Yauatcha City opened in May 2015 in Broadgate Circle, just outside Liverpool Street Station. This is Yauatcha’s second UK location following the success of its award winning restaurant in Soho.

Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu comprises nearly 40 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list.

Yauatcha’s first standalone patisserie, Yauatcha Patisserie, is located just below the restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team to create a range of unique macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.

The food was good, but the service not great. Among the other things they forgot to bring us the drinks. When they finally brought them they just apologised, but they made us pay for them full prize. They could have, at the very least, given us the one coffee we ordered on the house, but they didn’t.

I loved everything about it. Definitely going back, all staff was really polite and sweet. They also hold your coats and bags , what a classy restaurant. Also, make sure you get the jasmine ribs they were the best ribs I’ve tried in my life.

We had a lovely time at Yauatcha City and the food was really great. The only damper on the evening was the way some staff spoke to the staff working on the bathrooms. They were speaking in Spanish assuming customers wouldn't understand but it was pretty degrading and vulgar the way one member of staff was telling the other to clean the unisex bathroom. I almost said something but it was already uncomfortable as I was the only girl with those two men in the washroom with me.

We have been before and had a lovely meal. This time we probably chose badly. Had the medium price set meal at £60 per head. Starters and duck were very nice but we weren’t wowed with the soup or sticky rice or squid

It’s an excellent location for business dinner or lunch
The food is excellent, the cocktails are creative and wine list is well thought out
It’s white linen Asian food, which is great for the city but not a reflection of Asian food

It was too noisy but food was good. Sadly the first dish to arrive was the kailan which should have come after the dim sum and so was cold by the time we ate it.

The ambience of this place is great - stylish, perfect location, cool interior design and the restaurant obviously attracts lots of people. I thought the food was okay - a varied menu, dishes were well presented and good quality ingredients - but overall not worth the money. The service was great but overwhelming (apparently it takes two people to serve one dish!) and it felt like there was a constant swarm of people dressed in black lingering around.

I had high hopes but unfortunately wouldn't rush back/recommend.

Food was disappointing. Had very high expectation which weren't met. dumplings tasted ordinary, and quite dry. duck salad had dry duck in it; almost as if it had been sitting there for quite a while.

Very nice restaurant - I had been to the branch in Soho and the standard of food was as high as I remembered.

Let's talk about the staff:
- lady at the entrance: very nice and polite - nice smile
- two people upstairs to show us to our seats: a bit much and possibly over-enthusiastic, but pleasant
- waiters: way too many around our table, confusing. Also, not very friendly or helpful. It would be nice to offer to explain the menu, the options and the food style. We had to ask, and the waiter talked us through the menu so quickly that it was hard to keep up.

Crispy aromatic duck was great. Restaurant is exceptionally loud, however, and service was hit or miss. Wine list left much to be desired with some low quality offerings by the glass at a very significant markup. Beer list is out of date and was not offered a second bottle of the one option they did have on hand.

Didn't start off great when I ordered a cocktail and it was quite watery. Then I couldn't have the venison puff because the oven wasn't working! The food which I ordered didn't taste that great; the ribs were dry, the chicken dumplings didn't really have a chicken flavour and the wagyu beef puffs ( fried so didn't need an oven) didn't taste like beef. The service was decent though and they did replace my cocktail and when I ordered a second they got it correct the first time. Overall I thought it was a basic meal and didn't feel the size of the bill stacked up with the quality of food.

My husband and I didn't want to leave.

The food is always exquisite at Yauatcha, they have some amazing signature dishes but don't be afraid to try something new, it will most likely be delicious. For example the spinach tofu with shimeji mushrooms and the fried turnip cakes were dishes that I would have never thought of ordering but they were excellent. We went to the City branch as its difficult to get a table in Soho last minute. Don't dismiss the City option, it's a very nice location elevated above the Broadgate Circle.

We had an absolutely lovely meal, we went for the Supreme menu at £75/head. It was for both of our 30th birthdays, which we definitely very much enjoyed! The waiter also offered to chose some of our accompanying drinks for us, and kept us entertained throughout the meal. We weren't rushed out and were able to sit and chat for a while after the meal. Would definitely come back here again!

Lovely and airy and great staff. Food is delicious but the set menu for £28 is not great value. 3 little dim sums, some prawns and rice and 2 macaroons. I will go again but choose more interesting dishes.

The food was wonderful, but the experience wasn't that pleasant. The music was very loud and not suitable for a restaurant and the acoustics was awful - we couldn't hear each other or the staff due to the noise. I wouldn't come back just because of that.

Exceptional food and service as always. As we chose the lunch time menu it was the usual food but no complaints there - simple but very effective. Not quite warm enough to sit outside but we look forward to that next time. It was our third visit and all have been highly commendable. If you like Chinese pay them a visit.

Unfortunately the service and timing/readiness of food was not as expected. We had one vegetarian and two non-veg in our party; the non veg food for both starters and mains was served first and in both cases over 10 mins till the rest of the ordered food was served. We politely waited for the full order and it was left to cool on our table for far too long. When mains were served initially one wrong plate was served and then the replacement correct plate was a long long time coming.
The manager did visit at the end to apologise for errors and served complementary macaroons but we were disappointed with the service before. A real shame!
