Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu comprises nearly 40 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list.
Yauatcha’s first standalone patisserie, Yauatcha Patisserie, is located just below the restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team to create a range of unique macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.
The menu was severely reduced due to running out of ingredients to the point the we had to choose a 4th or 5th option. The food that did arrive came cold. We were all very disappointed especially myself as I recommended this place highly.
I have been to both restaurants and sadly have to say that I won’t return to the city 1. Staff running back and forth (literally) clattering of plates and cutlery. We was obviously sat outside the kitchen wash room.
The food was good but unfortunately if you are going on a date or eve with your partner then this is not the ambiance you are looking for.
Venue was great as was the food. We sat outside and there were heaters to keep us warm.
It’s just a bit expensive for Chinese! I would go back though as I enjoyed the experience.
Food very bland. Found a hair on top of roast pork bun which was replaced. Nothing special about the dim sum as under seasoned and under whelming.
Overall very average.
Food was good and nice relaxing vibe but I found the up-selling on the menus annoying. If you have a set menu supplements should be the exception, yet almost all the dishes attracted one on the menu I chose. Just makes you feel cheated unnecessarily. I would prefer a better representation of the price from the outset.
Everyone was so friendly and willing to serve. The food was delicious as were the cocktails. Cannot wait to come back
I asked for a nice experience for our anniversary dinner. I spoke to the designated reservation line to make sure there were some nice touches in place such as a candle on the desert and a message written on the plate. They didn’t bother doing any of it or respecting the occasion. Never again will I come to this restaurant. Soho much much better service. Such a shame that they just don’t care.
Been to Yauatcha a number of times over the years. Believe it is starting to go downhill. Quality of the food is not the same standard it used to be. It used to be exquisite and worth the higher price point. Now it’s just overpriced even for city. We had fried chilli squid which was covered it oats to the point it was so dry and made us feeling sick.
Still the ambiance and setting are great and the service was acceptable.
Love the quality of food at this place. Have previously eaten in the Soho branch. Definitely a different ambience from there. The windows make it more bright and gives a weekend brunch feel compared to the darker feel of their sister branch.
Celebrated a birthday there and was disappointed that previous birthday celebrations we would be given a slice of cake, but this occasion was given one macaron with a candle!
The service was at times a bit lacking, unsure if the staff were busy or if they had restrictions on being assigned to a specific area due to COVID but felt like the service wasn't as attentive as before.
Will be back for the food but will most likely return to the Soho branch.
They’ve hiked the prices to compensate for reduced covers. Been going for years but can justify this cost so will go to china town instead.
We were sitting on the outside terrace. Our waitress was amazing : efficient and in control but with a great sense of humour. The food was as always top quality : the venison puffs, the prawn cheung fun, all the classics... It was great to be back after the Covid break and the restaurant was very compliant with all the protective measures
WOW most amazing place- best Chinese I have ever had in a restaurant and the staff were very professional and helpful! 100% recommend
Excellent food and service. Outstanding as ever.
Really is fantastic tasting dim sum. Always a great experience due to the great food and attentive staff.
Surprisingly the portions seem to got significantly smaller from so many of my previous visits, I wonder if it’s to do with the pandemic?
How ever for the price things should be more consistent.
The food is good. The place though feels a bit too 'city'. There's a bit of a mall foodcourt atmosphere. It's big and quite noisy and the decor looks a bit cheap.
The original Yauatcha in Soho feels much nicer.
Food was amazing as usual and service was brilliant, they were very attentive and couldn’t have done more.
All social distance followed (toilets not so great but not sure what they can do to monitor that!)
Expensive but you know that before you go!
Always best quality food and service.
Nice atmosphere, delicious food, quick and nice service
Definately too loud, noisy, uncomfortbale ambience
Set menus have added extra for best choices..
Table next to us was very noisy but seems to be that way here - not ideal for a quiet spot but a really good choice for a vibrant dinner out!
I honestly love the food. It’s amazing and if I could have it everyday I would.
Brilliant food and brilliant service
Face masks are great for staff but they didn’t make an effort to speak clearly. Not enough social distance protocol for the bathrooms and prices not clear enough / our receipt was wrong before it was reduced. The standard has dropped a lot since my visit pre lockdown.
Let down by service this time. Forgotten for about half an hour. Food great as usual
We wentbon a Monday Bank hol and used the eat voucher offer. Food was amazing taste and quality but service let it down. Took ages for a waiter to come to us, there was no eye contact no one just started spraying & wiping the table without saying anything spraying anti bac into our drinks.
The black been sauce in the beef wok was incredible.
Service was non existent, waited for 10mins after food served to be provided with chopsticks, drinks ordered didn’t arrive, main course arrived cold (but no serving staff available to flag down & so ate it cold), used plates not removed & generally rude & incompetent waiting staff
We waited a very very long time for our order to be taken, we kept having to flag the waiter down for a drink or to order food. We had to keep getting up to get our wine, as the ice bucket was so far away. We did the ritual menu and I have to say everything I had was disappointing. The spicy pork dim sum was tasteless and the kung po chicken was chicken thigh, which I had and wouldn't have ordered if I had known and it was also pretty tasteless. It was a very expensive, average lunch.
Food was amazing but the service was very poor. On arrival given a glass of water and left without explanation of how to order etc (oh wasn't offered refill on water throughout the afternoon). Has to get up and wander to the bar to say we wanted to order a drink. The food was amazing however experience sullied by the service which was overall not proactive and rude at one point. We considered removing the discretionary service charge but didn't.
Wanted to order the seafood dishes but found out that they were all marinated in chicken stock and I can't eat poultry. I will not be eating here again due to the limited options for me, hence the low score and value for money.
The veggie dishes were great apart from the the mushroom spring rolls - they had an odd truffle after taste.
Delicious food and great staff! We went for the eat out to help our 3-course menue which was delicious and great value for money. Will definitely go back, even without the scheme.
Food was very good, especially the dumpling starters.
Expected more than one macaroon for 'pudding', but it was tasty.
We were situated by the door to the terrace, which was too breezy, and whilst it took a while to move us, we were finally moved somewhere more comfortable.
The service was appalling. Our table (and the ones around us) were constantly being brought plates of food we did not order. On telling the waitress (around 4 different times), that we did not order these dishes, we were met with literal arguments and accusations? Being told we did in fact order 6 main courses even though there were 3 of us?! I have never ever experienced such bad service.
It is a shame because the food is amazing, and the chefs obviously take great care with the food. But the service is slow, shocking and needs to be looked at.
Starters were good however mains were not good and the chicken tasted off. Nearly every dish you would want was an extra on the summer brunch menu. Would not return
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with the Hakkasan group. After waiting 5 minutes for the hostess to serve us upon arrival we were told we had a high top (we reserved standard). The hostess told us we could wait 20 minutes for a standard. We went with the high top (which turned out to be in the very back of the restaurant, near the bathrooms and the door). The QR code did not work. It took 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us. No one explained the menu. The food was not good - slightly above the average takeaway with a much higher price tag.
To Yauatcha’s credit, they did eventually move us. However, the rocky start, the poor service, and bad food had already placed a damper on the evening. Suggest potential diners go elsewhere.
