Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu comprises nearly 40 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list.
Yauatcha’s first standalone patisserie, Yauatcha Patisserie, is located just below the restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team to create a range of unique macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.

Long waiting time for service
It is a little pricey, so be prepared to empty your pockets a bit but I LOVED the food, loved the atmosphere, loved my Hakka!
First time going - definitely going again.
Food, was decent nothing special. Service was shocking, waited 30mins twice for drinks, wouldn't recommend.
Great food and location, and accomadating staff - a bit of a wait for a booked table but was well worth the wait
Service was very poor! Went in a group of 5 and only 3 mains came out after starters, waiting 45min to an hour for the other 2 mains after asking several times for both drinks and food
We had the Taste of Yuautcha menu as it was on the Eat out to help our scheme. Good value for money! Dumplings were delicious, especially the black truffle dumpling. Sweet and sour pork was nice as well as the beef. Only disappointment was they had sold out of the macaroons so we didn’t get to try those, but we got to try their matcha cheesecake instead which was tasty. Quite slow service overall, we had to wait a long time between mains and desserts but the restaurant being busy is a good sign I guess. Narrow walkways through the restaurant and some groups were standing by their table rather than sitting so it was hard to keep socially distant when going to the toilet.
The whole Eat Out to Help Out scheme is a bit of a farce here. The main dish (i had chicken kung pao) arrived dry and definitely not worth the price and the name of Yauatcha. I would never pay full price for that menu, definitely not worth it.
Very nice staff, safe environment during this pandemic, quite noisy and interiors not as exciting as Yauatcha Soho. Their macarons are GREAT though.
We had the Taste of Yauatcha menu which was only £15 with the ‘eat out to help out’ discount. The dumpling starters and macaron desserts were lovely, however the main course options were nothing special. The choices were sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken, stir fry veg or beef in black bean sauce and they were fine but nothing different than you would get at a bog standard Chinese restaurant rather than a high end restaurant like Yauatcha. Overall good but not great.
Service was terrible, food was nice but expected better for those prices
We were really disappointed with the service and attitude of our waiting staff. We were really looking forward to our meal but the way we were treated by the gentleman serving us was far below what we expected for an ex Michelin star restaurant - he was unprofessional and treated us as if we were in a fast-food restaurant. I wouldn't recommend Yauatcha to anyone based upon our evening.
Excellent food and service as always.
We, family of 4 enjoyed our dinner so much.
My favourite place to eat!!!
Food was really tasty and service was attentive, efficient and pleasant.
Took advantage of govt Eat out to help out but really irked by Yauatcha bumping the service charge to 14%. Not impressed by that bit.
I was excited to experience this restaurant with my 2 cousins as for business it is often a recommended destination. Despite having made reservations in advance and even checking in with the restaurant in person 5 hours prior to our reservation last night the restaurant appeared overwhelmed and not at all interested in fostering a positive dining experience for us. Our table was not ready upon arrival and we were shuffled to a holding area across from the kitchen by a very put off looking and sounding host. We were in the holding area for 20mins with no offer of a drink or water (despite it being 35degrees outside yesterday). Once we were finally seated at our table our server seemed disengaged and like we were an inconvenience to her routine that we were there as paying customers. A series of annoyances continued to ensue: further delays in receiving drinks/food, food brought out luke warm, missing dishes, wrong dishes served, lack of communication or apologies from server. It was only after my 2 cousins each followed up separately with the floor manager and restaurant manager (Rita) did we receive an apology from Rita and a confirmation that we would not be charged for luke warm dishes and would receive a complementary drink. The dine out to help initiative we realized clearly overwhelmed the restaurant but for a fine dining establishment such as this I would have expected at least the standard or higher of customer service and an appreciation of being open and having patrons given this difficult time for all businesses. The food looked and generally tasted good but the dining experience and service paled and questions me returning or recommending Yauatcha again. Rita really tried her best and appeared sympathetic. We appreciated her attempts to compensate for the poor experience. However, there is work for Yauatcha to do if it is to remain viable on my list of recommended places for a dining experience.
Really delicious food, but realised I was shouting to be heard as it was very noisy and quite stingy on the table water
Experienced some of the worst service - they were unhelpful and not very attentive. Had to wait 40 mins to order and I had to initiate the conversation. The starter took 1 hour to arrive and the main 30 mins later which is a very long time for some small dishes. They didn’t have any macaroons as said on the menu - we were told we would get “a cake” with no further information on allergens or ingredients. And then found out we only got one piece of cake in which we had to share. We were there for a grand total of 3 hours which was way too long, for food which was okay.
I dined with a friend with their explore menu for £38. This menu seems great on the face of it with lots to choose from in each course, however, you should note that the majority of the items have an extra charge. There's 3-4 options in the starter and main section and only 1 in the desert section which is included in the price. So if you really only want to pay £38 your choices are very limited.
We found the service to be slow on the night we went, the servers were all busy so it was either overbooked or understaffed. For example we had clearly finished with our food and noone came to our table for at least 20-30 mins and when we did get it cleared away, it was another 20 mins until we caught the attention of someone to take our desert order.
The best part of the meal were the dim sum starters. For mains we had kung po chicken which came out cold so had to return it but even when they did bring out another it wasn't great.
For desert we had a chocolate one and a mango one. The chocolate one was fine, but the mango one was really strange. I cant really describe it, the texture wasnt nice.
Overall the evening was fine, I felt it was covid safe, the food and service was just disappointing.
Service was slow
My third time here. We had the £25 taste menu which was tasty and a good amount of food. Service has gone up to 14% automatically added to the bill which I thought was on the edge of acceptable. We went on a eat out to help out night and the restaurant was full with a queue down the stairs.
Excellent food and service but not cheap, far better than your standard restaurant
We loved the ambiance of the place and our request for an outside table was granted, which was nice of the staff to do for us. The food was fair, we had the Taste of Yauatcha menu and it was not amazing. We would return to enjoy small bites and drinks on the terrace but we might not come back for the main courses.
Food a yauatcha was outstanding, great vibe, great location, however service was slow as some of the food I ordered was forgotten. Understandable considering staff must've been super busy during this eat out to help out period. But the waiter LUIS at yauatcha city was superbly helpful and rectified everything. Would definitely go again and would recommend the restaurant, particularly the prawn and bean curd dumplings. Wow.
Food pleasing enough but delivered in a package lacking charm.
Decent food as usual. Service was strange - felt invisible, order was wrong twice and certainly wasn’t made to feel like they deserved 14%. Probably shouldn’t have paid it.
an excellent lunch and service, thank you to all
Great value for money, really nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The new process was explained to us, download the menu to your phone. From there the service ended.. there wasn’t anyone to explain the difference such as ‘harmony menu’. We chose dim sum, a main rice, a starter, 2 glasses of house wine. The service was slow and the food was cold. The bill came to 170 with 14% discretionary service. Not happy and not coming back, nor would we recommend. We have been to a high end restaurant, with a group of 4, ate and drank more food than this with a better atmosphere and paid considerably less. Would never recommend.
Lovely surroundings and amazing food plenty of it the staff were very friendly and attentive, we will defo revisit
Tasty cheung fun!!! The best dimsum after lock down :) And easy service.
As ever, the food was excellent. However, the service was not fantastic. There appeared to not be enough waiting staff (accepting that due to social distancing there are less customers, so less staff required) and the tablet-based ordering system used by the staff appeared to keep crashing.
Not totally sure the use of a QR reader in the middle of the table to scan and then use your own phone totally works (phone screen very small and a bit of a faff to go back and forward between the multiple menu pages). Instead, disposable paper menus would work better.
I felt very safe, social distancing was observed, staff all had on face mask. Food was great
SUPER BAD service. I don't think the customer should pay the 14% service charge accordingly.
The lunch deal advertised was fairly misleading as most items require adding a sur charge which add up to be quite a lot over the original cost.
Food was good though in all fairness.
We love the food in Yauatcha, service was a little slow at times, overall we had a great meal.
However at this current time we were not happy about 9 people on the table next to us.
Came here for my birthday meal, had such a lovely time, food is outstanding service was very good
Fantastic evening, divine food. Great service. Definitely recommend.
Went there - they allow drunk people /college students in causing lines table wasn’t ready for 15 mins- lines at the desk- when we were seated no one came to us to take a drink order for 35 mins - requested time leave due to poor service- pathetic from the people there on this day. Ruining the hakassan brand image.
