Yauatcha City is an all-day dim sum teahouse, where friends and family gather to catch up over a wide selection of dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu comprises nearly 40 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list.
Yauatcha’s first standalone patisserie, Yauatcha Patisserie, is located just below the restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team to create a range of unique macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.
The heating outside was lovely! That combined with the service and excellent food made a special birthday even better!
Great food and the service was exceptional!
Service, food and ambience really nice but it’s pretty expensive. For outdoor dining it was perfect- covered really well and heated too.
Firstly door man/security was lovely and so was the lady on the door, can’t say the same for as soon as we sat down.
Really disappointed!! Went with my girls on a Saturday night and we was all really excited. Food was okay but the mains were tiny, ur better off getting smaller plates as they were a lot better.
We was served twice throughout our booking! A waiter come to the table to take the order and to drop the bill. The food was given to us and nobody came back to check in or to ask for more drinks.
Once we finished the food and was talking amongst ourselves you would’ve expect the table to be cleared considering how many small places Japanese cuisine involves. We finished at 45 minutes later the bill was dropped on the table ( we had 20 mins left on the table) with our plates still there. Even then they was not removed.
Rubbish, rubbish music, rubbish service.
Such lovely staff.. very helpful and kind
The food tasted AMAZING
Can’t wait to go again soon.
Really lovely food, amazing cocktails. Very expensive but lovely
One of the best restaurants in London. Class.
Very nice food, friendly and efficient service ! Strongly recommend!
The service was slow for drinks, in the 2.5hrs we was there we only received 3 drinks. The starter came out before our first drink!! Atmosphere was lovely and heaters kept us warm. The mood was okay, I found mine very salty (rib eye stir fry) so wasn’t a massive fan. I wouldn’t return again but it was nice to say I’ve been. I get better service in my local pub and yauatcha has a 14% service charge!!
Service was awful. Waiter looked disinterested and didn’t help when we asked for recommendations.
Good food and a warm place to sit outside. Could definitely do with more spaces between the tables!
Fantastic food and service
Only went for drinks so sat on the balcony. Left as it got too cold once the sun had gone.
So the food was good. Felt there was a sense that the staff were trying to clear the tables and rush people out a bit early was one issue. The 50 per head deposit is excessive and unnecessary in my view. The food was definitely overpriced vs other restaurants of a similar caliber. The security guard was a bit rude when I asked him about trying to get a table for drinks before we had our reservation I felt. The host was a good guy I think he was the manager dressed smartly in the suit that was friendly and the waiting staff were pleasant so that was nice.
Service was nice and the outdoor terrace had good conditions - despite being raining quite heavily, windy and cold they had the appropriate cover and heating.
Considering covid restrictions and the weather, Yauatcha was great. The only thing that let it down was that the food and drinks were quite slow. We were warned at one point that the kitchen was getting busy, but with half the restaurant empty (because of indoor dining restrictions), it didn’t make much sense.
The food was lovely. An expensive establishment but a nice treat for our 10 year anniversary.
I was not a fan of the deserts but all the other food was delicious.
When we arrived at the restaurant, our table was not ready and we had to wait at least 15 minutes for it to be prepared. We also asked whether we were able to be near to a heater and they were unable to accommodate us and therefore we had to sit in a particularly cold and we part of the terrace.
Great lunch spot! Tasty and fresh food. Perfect old fashion
Average food. Slow service. Terrace not suitable for adverse weather. Disappointing. Yautcha soho much better
To make the experience BETTER as seating outside please to provide MORE heaters in all directions
Excellent dim sum. Desserts are obviously pre made and stacked in a fridge somewhere because the rice crispies on mine were really soft.
Poor Service from the start, waited for 20 minutes before being seated, only for the people who came in after us with the same time booking to be chosen and taken in front of us with no justification. They were then sat at the end terrace directly under heaters and in a spacious area. Whereas, we were finally seated after this in a busier, more congested section where it felt as if each group was on top of each other and the heater only reached one of us. The food was bland, which was disappointing as we were really looking forward to experiencing the menu which sounded lovely but unfortunately wasn’t the case. There was no atmosphere and it was impossible to get even a smile out of the serving staff. For the amount charged for the menus and the bottle of wine it most definitely wasn’t worth it and I struggle to understand how they can justify this. We won’t be returning unfortunately after such a disappointing experience.
Food was amazing as per usual and the outdoor terrace was lovely.
Unfortunately extremely poor service - waited 20 minutes to be seated, another 20 minutes until someone came to take our order and then got attitude from our waitress when we asked if we could order more food after having starters.
Fulfilled all my cravings and more!!! Great food, great view
Dear Batel ,We take pride in customer satisfaction and making every guest to feel special. On behalf of myself and the entire Yauatcha City team we would like to thank you for your feedback. We look forward to seeing you soon at Yauatcha City.
Service was extremely slow, kept sitting without drinks and twice asked for drinks which never turned up so left. Asides from this food was lovely and lovely setting.
I’ve been to Yuautcha many times and always order from the a l caste menu, but tried The ritual menu for £29pp today and it is great value for money, so filling! You can order most of the dishes from the a la Carte for a small supplement, if you don’t like the set menu options. My favourite dishes are the soft shell crab, ribeye beef, sweet & sour pork, egg fried rice and the matcha dessert.
very nice food and service! Heated and covered terrace!
Will 10000000% be back. The service was wonderful. And they were very conscious about Covid and keeping everyone safe. The food was SPECTACULAR! Better than I expected. Will definitely recommend to everyone
Excellent. Lovely Terrace, Heaters and amazing food and cocktails
35min wait for table even though booked in advance
Anniversary dinner for its friends
For an expensive restaurant the service here is not good. We were queuing for 20 minutes to get seated without anybody explaining what was going on. Only one girl was going back and forth seating people whilst other staff were standing around. When we did get seated we were not offered a drink, the girl just dumped us on the table and walked away. Again, very strange for a relatively expensive restaurant. Our waiter was generally good but they brought food out in a strange order, sometimes only one of us had a dish whilst the other had nothing. It should be restaurant basics to bring out courses together, and once again very poor for an expensive dinner.
The food was very nice, as were the drinks but the poor service did slightly detract from the enjoyment of the meal.
Very good food , a little pricey
We reserved a table on the heated terrace but faced either a 40 minute plus wait or take a seat at their cafe. We sat at the cafe in the cold which I now regret but I still can't see the point of reserving a table if they can't guarantee it within 15 minutes.
Overall a disappointing experience with overpriced and bland food. You have to pay extra for some very simple items on the set menus, it's an absolute racket.
Little hick ups with reservations and tables not being ready but overall they made up for it with amazing service once seated.
We had a table booked for 8pm, we arrived at 7.45pm with a queue outside the restaurant. We were not seen until around 8.20pm when we were told that they had overbooked the restaurant. The only place they could seat us was downstairs next to the loud city drinkers - we may aswell have been offered a take away. We had paid a £50 per head deposit so we decided to wait for a table to come available, this was at around 9pm. The table that they then offered us was not in the restaurant, rather a cold uncovered and unheated corner away from the natural ambience. We complained again further to which we had to wait for another table. They offered us a free drink each as compensation. After finally sitting down, our night from here on in was lovely. The food was excellent, the wine was excellent and our waitress was very friendly. It was a shame because the whole experience would've been much better if it wasn't for the disorganization or even greed from Yautcha to let people take bookings that shouldn't have been there.
Table wasn’t ready. Then got a make shift table which wasn’t fully covered from the rain and not near a heater. Eventually got moved to a better seating area. Food was ok. Our waitress was lovely
Not one for giving poor feedback but had a table booked for 5:45. When we got there was told no tables were for us despite they saw we had a booking yet still couldn’t seat us. We we’re given a small table in the cold 40mins later on Lower terrace whilst people were seated upstairs in the heated area. Wasn’t given an apology or any discount and still was charged full service fee... but cheeky but still paid for it
In future should make room for people who have booking or not take them at all. Wasn’t just myself who had issue but lots of other people who were told to wait or go elsewhere.
Food was very good and drinks were great just disappointing overall
Unfortunately Yauatcha are massively understaffed. I saw at least one table walk out. Also if you Boin make sure you ask not to be on the two tables that are not under the heaters.
