Chinese
Yauatcha Soho, located in the heart of vibrant London, is an all-day dim sum teahouse offering a wide selection of modern authentic dim sum alongside European patisserie and an extensive range of teas, wine and cocktails.

The design of the restaurant is a modern interpretation of the old Chinese teahouse. At the same time, the lighting and seating embodies the atmosphere of a vibrant ‘chatter shop’, similar to the traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurants.

The restaurant offers Cantonese dishes with a modern influence, with an extensive range of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum such as Yauatcha’s signature dishes of Scallop shui mai and Venison puffs.

Very good food and decent place but not blown away as we expected to be.
COVID restrictions of course don't help but some dishes were wrong but those that did arrive correctly were actually very good.
Will go back after COVID with different expectations...

The food here remains some of London’s best. Great range of dim sum, standouts include the duck spring rolls, wagu beef puffs, venison puffs. Spacious, well lit and comfortable.

Amazing food, as always, but very poor service. The waiter kept spilling stuff on the table when serving us, forgot to give us the individual soy sauce recipients, gave us a couple of dirty plates, made a mistake with our order and bill, etc. A very messy service overall, something I had never experienced at Yauatcha. Hope it was the waiter having a bad night and not Yauatcha decreasing its standards. Plus, the music was very loud.

The front of house staff said they had a table downstairs for us. We had spoken to the restaurant the day before who also said they should be able to accommodate this request.

We were then made to wait around 15 minutes, and saw another couple push ahead, complain about something and then get taken downstairs. It appeared they did not have a booking, and clearly took our table downstairs as we saw them go down.

Then, we were told out table downstairs was ready, but were taken to a table upstairs with no explanation! We then saw the couple who were behind us, get taken downstairs. We were essentially pushed to one side, extremely rude and unprofessional.

After 45 minutes of waiting and complaining, we finally got a table downstairs. However, the front of house staff ruined the night.

Overall, the food and waiters were good. The front of house staff allocating the tables were awful, disappointing. And ruined our night which was meant to be a special occasion.

We had the Harmony set menu, Food quality was fantastic, great choices and definitely great value for money compared to the A La Carte menu. Service was good from the host, although kitchen didn’t send out courses in menu order. Host did well to accomodate for this. Overall worth going for the experience and the great dim-sum!

Everything was great. My only real dissapointment was about the size of our table. We were a party of 5 and the table was quite small for a party of that size.

Excellent food as usual. Service has slipped recently (including prior to lockdown). Our waiter was not very communicative in general.
Currently the menus are virtual and there is a QR code on the table on a coaster where you access the menu. Would have helped if someone had told us this when we were seated as we waiting a long time for a menu, not realising. Then we were unable to access it on our phones so the waiter brought us an ipad where we could scroll through the menu options.
The restaurant added on a 14% service charge - would have preferred the option to choose, especially given our service ecperience.
Seated near a speaker pumping out clubbing-like music, bit out of keeping with the feel of the room and not what I like to listen to while eating.
Still excellent food though......!

Best dim sum in London so far - having a cocktail or two or wine will rack up the bill but the food was spot on. Venison puffs, char siu pau, har gow, cheung fan- fabulous!
My husband & I lived in Hong Kong for 8 years and having just returned to London, we were delighted to find a great restaurant where we can enjoy our yum cha!

Noisy, poor service. There was a big bustle of people outside because of the COVID "precautions", which were badly communicated, so lots of people were crowding the entrance, trying to find out what was going on.

Had to wait ages for drink orders. Tried a bottle of wine instead, but they took it away and then forgot to come back to refill us until we asked.

The music is loud and let's just say: not to everyone's taste.

Food is good though. But not good enough to make up for the rest of the experience.

The service was a little slow. We waited over 45 mins to receive our mains. The waitress did apologise before we could ask, so at least that was recognised it was running behind.
Otherwise, food was lovely. We had The Taste of Yauatcha set menu which was good value for money

Food ok. But not a place you want to go to again . Too noisy . Tables too close - ridiculous in these times that they couldn't be bothered with screens etc...even high street restaurants are better equipped.
They have not moved a single table to ensure distancing.
Menus are non descriptive and my wife was served a vegetarian ingredient which she just couldn't bear the taste and aftertaste of.
And we went there for a celebration.
Do not reccomend to anyone

The food was absolutely exquisite, I never thought I’d react to food as I did, it’s Devine, especially the truffle and edamame dumplings, incredible flavours.

Although, the service wasn’t very good, the waiters where very quiet considering the room was quiet and there weren’t many people (we had an early dinner early, it livened up after a while) but the waiters where a bit quiet and awkward like they where new. Although overall I really enjoyed it, especially the ambiance and the style of the restaurant.

Yauatcha has successfully maintained its high standards since first opening. The venison puffs are still as good as they ever were, the basement dining room is a great design that has stood the test of time and the service is always first class.
It was good to go see it operational again.

As a non fish eater this was a great choice in restaurant!
I had the half a crispy duck (to share) and it went down a dream!
We also shared the stir fried beef which was very tender.
I would recommend this place 100% for a special occasion as it is a little pricey...

I’ve been here for years. This was the first time I returned post lockdown. Unfortunately the food quality was so average I am not surprised the restaurant has been stripped of its Michelin star. The char Siu in the cheung fun was clearly not fresh - it was verging slimy. The scallops in the dumplings were frozen scallops not fresh and my favourite cocktail Lalu was so weak I should have ordered a mocktail. Never again. Better off going to Hakkasan Mayfair - hope that place has maintained its standards. There’s always Imperial Treasure and Kai.

We were highly disappointed with the service and food last night. The waiter did not explain any of the dishes and treated us like numbers instead of people. I know that social distancing measure make ordering on one’s phone a bit odd, but it’s the waiter’s job to help and advise, not just stand there and repeat what we say. He made it more confusing and awkward.

The dumplings were good but the rest of the food was sub par, not worth the money in our opinion. They also had no duck, which was a major disappointment as this is one of the key reasons we wanted to come to eat here. How can you not have duck on a Monday night? Bizarre.

We will be dining elsewhere in the future.

At the time of booking (half an hour prior to the booking time) there was the option to book either bar or table seating.
We thought that the ambience might be better at the bar, but when we arrived there were few people at the restaurants we thought it may be nicer to sit at a table.
We asked to change and the staff would not accommodate us saying we had to stick to our original reservation. This seems non sensical given how few people were at the restaurant. The service was stand offish and aloof.

The food is amazing and the venue very great; But we were kindly asked to wait, 20 minutes..., for our table to be ready in the bar area full of people without any safe distanciation respect. This is not really not what we expect when we attend to this kind of restaurant. I also asked to be seated upstair when I booked but I was seated downstair without any explainaition or apologise.

Really disappointing experience. We had gone for a late lunch. Service was terrible. It took a long time to attract the attention of a waiter, and after that we still had to ask for things 2 or 3 times before they arrived. The food was extremely average; not what I would expect from the Hakkasan group. Extremely overpriced for what it was. We ordered a range of dim sum, noodles, ribs, lamb, vegetables - every dish similar to a high street Chinese takeaway. Definitely not worth the £300 at the end. Would not recommend to anyone for any occasion.
