TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I would not recommend this place.
The food was good however, there was a very rude waiter who refused to let us add hot water to our tea and when my father tried to pour hot water into his tea cup, the waiter came by and stopped him and scolded him.
Terrible service and honestly shocking. I have been to their other branch at Broadgate where it was lovely. This was an unpleasant experience.
Very efficient service. Excellent food.
I have never ever complained at a restaurant but today I felt I had no choice. We ordered as soon as we arrived. Our starters took an hour to arrive and the mains took another 40 minutes. We were told we were only allowed the table for 2 hours so there was no time for dessert and we left. We complained to the manager who couldn’t care less. Not even an apology. Just another customer in and out. Go somewhere where the restaurant actually cares, forget the hype. Food was ok but forgettable. Take your money elsewhere.
Food was divine, we had a selection of dumplings followed by the roasted duck which I would totally recommend! We accompanied everything with two bottles of Italian red wine, a Sangiovese from 2017 which was very good.
The food has gone very downhill.
The service was slow and at times rude.
It is extremely overpriced.
Very noisy and low/uncomfortable chairs - not appropriate for dining.
Food as always was very good.
Service was not good in comparison with previous visits.
However would still always recommend.
I was incredibly disappointed. Brought my boyfriend for the first time having been before 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. This time however we ordered the supreme menu and the quality of the food was terrible, portions were too big for a tasting menu, the sauces on the sea food and pork tasted fake, the squid was cold chewy and covered in random shavings that weren’t in line with the dish, the puddings were very disappointing also. Really disappointing as I would always choose over Hakkasan due to area and ambience but I would now not go back sadly. Shame
Table was not ready when we checked in for our reservation at 7PM with the hostess. She told us to go grab a drink at the bar. 15 mins later she completely forgot about us. Requested for a table upstairs in our reservation was not honored. Other than that service and food was good per usual.
Do not miss the prawn/sesame toast. I am going to be missing that.
It's noisy, it's busy and it's impossible to have a conversation, also the waiter was very stressed, but who cares when the food is that good.
Poor service. Average food. Not good value for money.
We were seated at the table promptly, excellent service and great food!
Celebrated graduation here on Wednesday evening. Very good food. Would recommend
Unfortunately, we were served cold rice. We had the supreme set menu and were rather disappointed. Maybe a good place to drink and have some dim sum . Not bad , but far from amazing .
I love this restaurant:- from the greeting when you first arrive to when you leave, distinguishes this place from so many other restaurants. As for the food - I never fail to over indulge because it’s so and I mean SO delicious. The ambiance is relaxed but classy with a lovely buzz. My first choice ever time!
Food was delicious, however service wasn’t great considering - our dishes took a long time to come. Overall we enjoyed it though
Was expecting more from
A Michelin Star Restaurant.tasting menu was confusing had a party of 3 but only came in servings of 2 wanted 2 of 1 and another single of the more expensive item but was informed I could not do it even though was more
Expensive. Also got the same sized duck breast serving for 3 people as couples were getting for 2 people. Basically paid for something I did not get. Food was mediocre at best, especially coming from a
Strong Asian background...could
Have been way better for Asian fusion.
Food just not good. Overpriced and just wish I hadn’t booked.
My husband and I went for lunch. He is vegetarian and I am not. All the special tasting packages are designed for two people to share, except the vegetarian package, which could be ordered for individuals, meaning that I would have to order a vegetarian menu. When I asked if the regular menu options might have the occasional substitute for my vegetarian partner, the waiter laughed at me and told us one of us would have to eat a la carte or we would both have to eat vegetarian.
Though other customers around us were asked about allergies, the lunch was topped off with a chocolate dessert, which I cannot eat. Another server switched my dessert to something I could eat. [So substitutes were allowed after all??]
I was really looking forward to this place but I cannot recommend despite some occasionally lovely courses.
Love the food at yauatcha but the service this time was not up to scratch. We were a table of 6 but were sat on a 5 person table, when asked to move we were sat on another 5 person table and then had to wait ages for anyone to take our order. Also thought the wine was overpriced, whispering angle is under £40 in most places. Felt like they added £20 on just because they could. The wine was also kept at the other side of the restaurant and we had to keep asking for it! Not what you want when you have spent £60 on a bottle of wine. Food was still good as always.
Lots of dishes not available
Not the table i asked for
I didnt enjoy the experience at all. Food didnt worth the price and was cold and the service was not good: we got a horrible table, the waiter didnt remember to add the candle in the dessert (it was a birthday dinner)...In addition we have to deal with several conflicts in the gable next to us between customers and waiters...very disapointing.
I have been to Yauatcha more times than I can count over the years -- it's long been my favorite restaurant in London. This time, as always, the food, drinks and ambience were absolutely wonderful.
The service, however, for the first time ever, was definitely subpar. Our server didn't even come close to living up to the amazing, expert, fun service experience I had promised my friends. He didn't listen to us or pay attention to what we were asking for/saying to him, and he didn't seem as familiar with the menu or as invested in making our dining experience as special as every other server I've ever had was. Everyone at the meal agreed that the service was the only real disappointment of the meal.
One other point I wanted to mention is that for the first time ever at Yauatcha, I was given a time limit for our dinner. This may be usual at the restaurant now, but I've never experienced it before (including when I had my 14-person 40th birthday party there), and it made a dinner for 7 feel extremely rushed.
I will still come back, most likely, but having a dinner I organized at my favorite restaurant be this mixed an experience was extremely disappointing.
All good just a little slow on the drinks side but everything very lovely
A night of mistakes. We got a cold dish, and it took too long to re-heat. We didn't want it, anymore. Because we ordered the fixed menu, we paided as if we've eaten it all...
Also, the food is too sweet, and we shouldn't have ordered the fixed menu, apparently.
Appalling service. I got my main course, my friend got her rice and then she was waiting more than 15 mins for her curry! No apology or explanation - we kept asking staff and were dismissed every time. Not what you would expect in a Michelin started restaurant. Would not go back.
YAUATCHA IS ONE OF MY MOST FREQUENTED RESTAURANTS. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT. I WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE MORE VEGAN DISHES AND A VEGAN SET MEAL. WILL COME BACK MANY TIMES MORE.
Excellent food and great place to meet up with friends. Visiting London from Los Angeles and will visit again on my next trip.
Great place, amazing and delicious food for everyone (vegetarian, vegan and normal food), lovely service, I recommend this place and I will go back.
The service was appalling. I arrived for noon booking and told they weren’t open and I should wait outside as staff were in a meeting and they should have licked the door!
I had to request to see lunch menu only given a la Carte menu Had to beg fir the bill never cleared away plates a total mess! I don’t know what was going on but it was a very poor experience. And expensive at that certainly not for a business lunch when you’re unlikely to want to kick up a fuss
Great food - a little on the pricey side.
Much prefer the downstairs area
Service was a bit slow and while we were asked to order more drinks several times, we had to keep asking for tap water to be brought to the table. Food very good though and the set menu is great value. Venison puff and mushroom roll dim sum are to die for!
The food was excellent . However, the ribeye in blackbean sauce was extremely salty and def not worth the money
Not usually a restaurant I would get to but glad my client suggested it as the food was outstanding and wish I had tried more options. I found it pretty expensive but it is London so not surprising. Would definitely go back for a special occasion. Thanks for having me
We arrived at 9pm for a reservation at 9pm but did not get a table until 9.30pm. Asked to wait in the bar, we ordered a bottle of wine were and then kept waiting while the barman said the bottle was being fetched from downstairs - only for him to take it from the fridge 2 feet behind him after we had waited 10 minutes.
Great food, nice atmosphere but had to move table from the nicer area of the restaurant to one at the foot of the stairs as the air conditioning made it too cold. This new table was not in such a nice location and atmosphere was slightly ruined as a result. Service was really good previous times I've been but was a bit slow this time.
A fantastic meal .great table in ground floor .lovely we where not rushed .will go again great fun
Slow service, inattentive
Left with bad stomach the next day
BEST Restaurant in London.
We came back for our 5th anniversary and Yauatcha did not disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot for date night. I haven't been in almost 3 year besides last weekend and I will continue to still rave about it. Now living in london instead of visiting I will recommend it to anyone.
Such a treat, thank you to Yauatcha for such a fabulous ambiance.
Cannot fault this restaurant
We always come to Yauatcha as a family when they visit the UK.
We now have a little boy and I wish yauatcha could consider having high chairs at least during the day , on the weekend at leaast, which is when we made the booking for. The team have been considerate to change our table, and allow us to have a seat with the sofa.
Other than that, we still love the food very much and hope to come back as a family again.
