Food here used to be amazing, now it’s marginally better than Chinatown but at twice the price. So you are paying for the surroundings. Dim sum was average. Puddings delicious. Table was upstairs and kept getting cold gusts of air from the opening of the front door. At £65 a head for set festive menu I’m afraid I won’t be coming back.
Perfect for a late dinner on a cold winter night - chilli squid, venison puffs, and sesame balls.
Each time I've been here the service has been disappointing. Staff are friendly, but always seem to forget dishes and booze, so expect an empty glass for most of your meal.
Surprised that bar stools have been removed from the bar. This just puts people off from having an aperitif at the venue!
Wonderful food. Everything was well presented and tasted fab. Busy, buzzing environment, great for a night out. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Awesome food and great vibe. Definitely worth trying for those who hasn’t .
The food is always fantastic, however the service is always quite slow (lunched there 3 times). Allow at least 2 hours for lunch.
I dined in your restaurant yesterday for lunch with 5 guests.
The service was so poor. No doubt you are aware of this other diners were also complaining.
The staff even argued in front of customers!
Not what I expected from a restaurant of the standard you are trying to portray.
All guests agreed that they have never seen such bad service in a restaurant.
•Waited 15mins to be offered drinks
•Waited 30 minutes to order food
•Then asked several times did we want to order form different people
•Had to ask for wine to be poured every time
•Waiters shouting and arguing
Food came out sporadic, we had starters and mains served at the same time, then additional starters arrived and after the main was eaten and then to top it off as we were awaiting the bill the side dishes arrived! Wouldn't recommend.
Best Dim Sum in London and amazing other dishes, great cocktails, fun and futuristic ambiance.
very nice place we were very well served the food was excellent and the cocktails too! i will come back again!
Food always great but atmosphere and service consistently awful in the soho branch compared with the broadgate branch. Decor etc very dated and stale doesn’t make for a very comfortable experience.
Just average. Nice decor, the food was a bit disappointing... I expected more
Amazing food as ever. Service however has dramatically taken a downward trajectory.
We didn't once have a waiter proactively serve us and spent a lot of time trying to get served for food orders, drinks and to get questions answered. At the end our bill was completely incorrect, which was rectified, but confirmed my suspicions. Yauatcha clearly lost its Michelin star because the service has become more akin to a mid range chain restaurant. Thankfully the food remains excellent. It's a shame given service is arguably less tricky to pull off vs what they're doing in the kitchen.
My recommendation is still go but do so when it's quiet. You'll enjoy the amazing food without paying for it in terms of a diminished experience.
Great food in a great ambiance. Perfect for a late night dinner with friends.
Everything was great. Nice food and cocktails.. service was so and so but overall a good experience!
Having made a booking online at 7.53pm for a table at 8pm, I knew I was not going to get there on time. Due to traffic we arrived at 8.27pm, I spent the entire journey in the car calling the restaurant, no one picked up.
The front of house lady was extremely unhelpful, she told me the system automatically cancels tables after 15 mins despite trying to ring and not get through. I told her there was a slot for 9pm and she said that it wasn’t available. In the end we took a counter table on the corner, my wife had someone else’s jacket in her way from the chair behind, the area was barely big enough for 1 person. We complained and moved to another area. By the time we eventually sat down it was almost 9pm. I noticed through the glass into the main restaurant that there was an empty table for 2 set up. Assuming this was the 9pm table I told her about, I waited to see if it was taken. We left at 10.15pm and the table stayed empty the whole time
Thankfully the food was good and the waiter was helpful. Due to the front of house I will not be returning.
The food was fantastic / but from the moment we arrived we were constantly reminded that we only had the table for an allotted time - literally every interaction. In the end we had to speak to them and ask them to stop - it gave a feeling of being rushed and felt v unwelcoming.
Great food and service as always, but the music got progressively louder during the evening. If you're looking for an audible conversation it may be wise not going on a Friday night!
Celebrating my sister birthday and we went for the supreme set menu. Absolutely worth the money. We thought the portions will be just enough but we left with no room in our tummy as we cannot stop eating. All items of food cooked to perfection
Great food, good service, very nice time!
So I have been going to Yauatcha for well over 12 years and this was a pretty disappointing visit. Table service super slow, asked for drinks menu and was given food menus and then ignored. Food was OK but pretty warm and not up the usual good standard. A table fo 6 next to us seemed to have similar problems and spent the night complaining! Obviously it’s Christmas but I don’t think that’s an excuse when dinner for two and a bottle of wine cost us £300 I expected much better. Unlikely to return :-(
I been going to Yauatcha since opening but not good anymore
I had two people with me who had never been and they were astounded by how good the food was.
Both complained at how it was too noisy (music wise) to have a conversation with each other easily.
Also, the service was attentive but some things took too long; for instance, getting the bill.
Excellent dim sum and main dishes.
Table too small for 4 ( my kids eat more than me so needed more space)
Meet & greet need to be more welcoming , but I enjoy coming here for the food not the welcome.
The best place for Asian food in London. Delicious! We will be back, again and again!
Every time we go to this restaurant there is never any way to have a table on the ground floor but always in the basement. I waited more than 10 minutes even though I booked. The place is a little confusing but overall very suggestive the food is good and the service very attentive.
I've been to Yauatcha quite a few times. It is not a cheap option but it is, in my opinion, simply the best dim sum in London. The service is normally very good too although unfortunately on my most recent trip it was a bit under par.
The cuisine, the ambiance & service is great. Everything is perfect
Customer service was awful, miserable staff, couldn’t order for a long time and totally forgotten about with drinks and the bill. Very disappointed.
While it was was a truly unique Dim Sum eating experience, Management must be mindful that this is against the background of similar traditional food offerings in the SOHO area, which are at very competitive prices.
The food was delicious as always. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The check in took 20 minutes and by the time we arrived, the hostess said we were late and we might not have a table. It was solved in the end but she was very rude.
Waiters were a bit overwhelmed that night too.
We were seated 45mins after our actual reservation. We were told we’d have a “lovey table” which turned out to be right next to the cashier.
We asked to order and the waiter said “yeah”, but then walked away and didn’t come back.
When we had finished eating, we asked for the plates to be cleared and were told “later”.
The wait staff massively let down the good food.
great service, very good food but a bit too loud, both for house music and customers talking.
Terrible experience. Shocking service and half the food we ordered wasn't delivered. Having previously ate here I was seriously disappointed.
Love this place, cocktails are yum, warm sake was delious and the quick chat with Dev Patel was hilarious.
Been coming to Yauatcha for years and the food is great. But this time the service was very poor. We sat 1 hour waiting for someone to clear our table and to order dessert, but after the wait we decided to pay and leave instead.
Very dissatisfied, started badly as the greeter was unwelcoming not friendly and very curt yes it was busy but this is no excuse , the food took along time to arrive , our chicken dish was cold and we sent it back we then had to wait along time and had to ask the waiter to chase it up , the wait staff again were not polite or interested in offering even a moderate level of customer service, we were made to feel like we were interrupting their day I would not recommend this one to anyone. The Liverpool st one is so much nicer.
The worst restraunt
