The design of the restaurant is a modern interpretation of the old Chinese teahouse. At the same time, the lighting and seating embodies the atmosphere of a vibrant ‘chatter shop’, similar to the traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurants.
The restaurant offers Cantonese dishes with a modern influence, with an extensive range of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum such as Yauatcha’s signature dishes of Scallop shui mai and Venison puffs.

I have been to Yauatcha probably more than 10 times in the last 5 years. They have an excellent menu selection, the ambiance is great and the service being top notch. However, in my most recent experience, the service was very hasty. The weird thing is that there no reason for rush, b/c it was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not as busy as it usually is. It really did not feel right.
Disappointed with the food & service. We went for my husbands birthday & Father’s Day & felt that we should have picked somewhere else. The food was average at best with the squid & duck being very oily. The prawns were quite soft & water filled not really steamed & the waiter seemed to be too busy to attend to us. Won’t be going back any time soon.
Went for the weekend Brunch Menu for Fathers Day
Tartar was an amazing host
Food was delightful and there was a lot of it
Stuffed by the end of it
The food was delicious but horribley over priced.
2 adults, 2 children, no alcohol £250.
The chairs are a bit too low for comfort. We had to ask to be seated at banquette which was more comfortable. The Burmese waiter was very good and attentive. Deserves a bonus.
Delicious food and cocktails!!
Yauatcha never disappoints !! I always keep coming back :)
Tables are very small and low, too close to other tables too. Service wasn’t very good. Didn’t explain things very well. The food tasted nice. Very noisy In there.
Excellent though expensive. Very good service and atmosphere.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful setting.
There was a hair in my food and the waitress told me it was a piece of banana which had nothing to do with the meal.this really ruined our night as we didn’t expect it from the restaurant. We received nothing back when we complained
Thank you for a brilliant evening, I was celebrating a special occasion and Yauatcha was the perfect place. Really attentive staff, gorgeous cocktails and a wide range of delicious vegan options to devour.
I booked a table for a birthday celebration and did state on the booking it was for a birthday. On arrival there was good organisation re COVID procedures, ensuring the app was scanned and temperatures taken and staff wore masks. We were seated downstairs and that was very ambient. We had to scan in the menu and this was very complicated. We opted for the Harmony menu and although this was the second most expensive menu much of the choices had additional supplements of up to £9. The service was chaotic and rude. Main courses arrived before starters and when we brought this to attention we were told to just eat our mains first! Three starters and appetisers were forgotten completely and when we eventually got some assistance it was all very rude. One member of staff came to the table without his mask, another staff member cleaning the next door table sprayed the back of my partner with disinfectant and one waitress had so much strong Oud perfume on that it was necessary to use my inhaler. No attention was given to the fact it was a birthday. All in all it was extremely expensive with chaotic and appalling service.
First time at this fabulous restaurant! The food was gorgeous and the service impeccable. Highly recommend!
Well organised , friendly team happy to give good advice on qty's to order made for a good evening
Very over priced, food wasn’t worth the money. Portion sizes are big but would rather have small and nice food. Didn’t offer us a drink when ordering we had to keep trying to get the waiters attention.
Amazing food and very attentive service. I am vegan and the food was incredible. Our waiter Roshan was so attentive and couldn’t do enough to make our experience extra special. Highly recommend.
Dear Guest, We are extremely pleased to hear you had an incredible experience and enjoyed our vegan options. We will be passing your compliments on to Roshan, who will be delighted to receive them! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we hope to welcome you back in the near future! Kind regards, Yauatcha Soho.
High quality Chinese food with great options for vegetarians.
Excellent restaurant with great service. However pricy for a Chinese restaurant in Soho. £50 for set lunch per person no alcohol is a little high.
The food was very delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful!I would recommend this restaurant
Birthday experience was great
The food here is great, and once we had managed to flag someone down to order it, the food came quickly and courses prompt. However, the overall service was lacking. Drinks took around 30 mins to arrive after ordering, staff were generally not present and it was a struggle to get their attention in order to actually order in the first place. 45 minutes into our booking and they still hadn't come to the table to ask for our order. It did seem like there were not many staff around, so perhaps this was the issue - they were just understaffed that day. The food as usual was great, cocktails are interesting but generally all a bit oversweet.
My friend & I have been coming here for many years when she travels down from Edinburgh apprpx 3 times a year, the food has always been absolutely delicious, we have never been disappointed. We choose from the dim sum menu, which is freshly cooked & varied. The macaroons for dessert are to die for.
There was really intrusive noise pollution from the street which staff seemed oblivious to.
We had fantastic service and great selection of food .thanks
We will return
Dimsum is perfectly done. Service was great. Only thing is the chair is too low for us .
Great food and ambiance. Terrible customer service! Rude receptionist giving us incorrect information on the phone
First time i have been in Yauatcha. We sat outside, there were a lot cafes and they were crowded and quite noisy. Foods are delicious. I recommend this place to everyone.
AMAZING FOOD and EVEN better service. Thank you so much! Very pleased :)
Very good food, but poor service. I was expecting a high quality service - especially as the service fee is 25% of the bill. Unfortunately, the waiters were not helpful when we were asking about the food and the choices of the food.
The restaurant atmosphere is really nice, service is excellent. However, it’s a little bit crowded. During the pandemic time, it should be social distance between each table. Overall, it’s nice restaurant I will recommend to my friends
Great place and food! Ambience was amazing and the music was on point
The food was good, however, we were seated 20 minutes late!!! They were super rude, did not say sorry or explained anything but just told us to stand and wait. We asked several times for our table (that we had reserved well in advance) and they just said it wasn’t ready. After 20 minutes it was still us that had to go and ask (again)! We were late to our next appointment and had to rush dinner. Not a good experience.
Very good food and big portions. The taste is exquisite at the same time delicate. I really love the venison dim sum and the duck dishes.
The food was very good, but the service was just fair. We were not aware that the deposit in advance explained in the Open Table was actually a real transaction for 100 pounds minimum spending, i.e. we didn’t know we needed to target for over 100 pounds spending when we booked / at the time when we sat down. We got really confused about the deposit when the waiter mentioned about it when we were about to order dessert. This should have been better informed during the booking process and at the time when we arrived at the restaurant. Thank you!
We are big fans of Yauatcha and have been many times. We had an unfortunate experience on this occasion. Everything was great and the food was delicious (as per usual). But then our crab dish came out, I tried a piece and knew something didn't taste right. I know because I have had this dish many times before and it has always been my favourite. We let the waiter know that it didn't taste right (could have been 'off) and he got the restaurant manager. He came over and asked if we wanted something else or to take it off the bill - we opted to take it off the bill as we were quite full already. We thought everything was fine but then when the bill came, it hadn't been taken off. We questioned this and then the manager came over very aggressively and said it couldn't be taken off as we had eaten from a set menu (even though he'd agreed beforehand). We understood this as we work in the restaurant industry and asked if we could deduct some drink or sides instead to which he REFUSED! He said that all he could offer us was some macarons? Which we didn't want as we had just had macarons for desert. Then he said the bill was wrong and he needed to add the service charge on. At this stage we stopped him and said that we'd prefer not to pay the service charge because of the way we'd been treated. We felt guilty about this for the other waiter (who was lovely) but we'd been charged for an expensive crab dish which we hadn't eaten and had sent back. The manager then never came back with the complimentary macarons - he just ignored us, so we left.
This was a very unfortunate incident and has affected how we feel about Yauatcha which has always been one of our favourite Asian restaurant in London.
Amazing food. Prawn & bean curd cheung feung is always our favourite!
Venison puffs make the trek worthwhile. A bit noisy in the evening so hard to hear the person opposite you. Service was attentive,’food delicious and comes out fast.
Fantastic food, great ambiance, would recommend. The only thing I would change is the service as we were slightly rushed.
Great service. Nice location. For a better vide I recommend to choose a low level as there is cool music and better interior.
We ordered a full menu and also some sides and nobody advised that it was too much food. We literally packed 3/4 to go.
