My partner and I were craving some dim sum so I booked a time on Thursday evening to come an experience some proper dim sum. I had a lot of high hopes as it was previously recommended to me by multiple people over the last 4 years. Let’s start with the positives: the food was amazing, honestly can’t fault any of the dishes. We ordered classic steamed and classic baked dim sum platters as well as a quarter of crispy duck. Everything came fairly quickly and was honestly very filling for two people. Service was very good, attentive staff. As for drinks, they were below average, the sort you’d find in a Uni club at 2 in the morning. At £15 a cocktail, I’d be expecting better balanced drinks, but they were all over the place, either too much syrup, too much ice, or too much alcohol, all he ratios were off. We tried the pisco sour and Collins as those were the signature drinks but reverted back to beer after that experience. Interior was quite nice but dimly lit and completely packed with people with tables very close together. But the thing that really ruined the ambiance for me was the music. The sound level was borderline obnoxious and the track picks didn’t fit the theme of the restaurant or food whatsoever. It was so overly loud that we had to shout at each other from across the table as everyone around us were raising their voices as well, just to be able to be heard. Now I’m usually a fan of good house or techno, but there is a time and place. In my opinion, playing tribal techno whilst your customers are eating dim sum while the Dj increases the volume every few tracks, just doesn’t work for me. If this were purely a bar or club, fine, but this is a fairly expensive and upmarket dim sum place. Looking at other reviews this is a very common thing and honestly really ruined the outing for my partner and I. Finally when we got the bill, £170 for the above food 2 cocktails and 2 drinks. For the experience and food, very overpriced.

Sad that they didn’t have sticky rice as part of dim sum menu it was the thing I was looking forward to most and the replacement prawn toast was just not the same but the rest of the dim sum was so good

We have been here before. Brilliant setting & great food. Service pretty basic considering what you are paying. We won’t be rushing back there are better more reasonable options with the same quality food. Disappointing.

They added over 13% of service without ask (UK is not USA) plus the Kombucha was extremely pricey. It doesn’t worth the money spent, too overpriced.

Always the best food and cocktails. Weekends have a bar vibe downstairs which is a lot of fun. I recommend the prawn and bean curd dumplings also the prawn, scallop and asparagus stir fry for main. Having said that all the food is fantastic here! Expensive but worth it

We were here for lunch. I had high expectations for this place and was a bit disappointed. The food was presented well and was good but not outstanding. The ambiance was lacking. The service was good. I don’t think I’d go back.

One of the best tasting menus I’ve ever experienced! The most incredible food. Service was very polite and attentive (a bit slow towards the end due to being busy). My only disappointment was how close the tables are together, and the location of our table (next to a service/till area with high staff traffic… kept knocking my chair/back), and you’re not given a big enough time slot to enjoy the tasting menu. Had to be moved to the bar finish out drinks due to the next booking arriving. However, would definitely recommend and go back! I just wouldn’t want to the same table location. Service and food was fantastic :)

The staff were super, although the door staff not so much, the table service was good. Having spent over £500, and not on alcohol, to be asked to leave to make way for another reservation was a bit more than off, considering there were plenty of empty tables - we were there for under 2 hours and not all the food came in reasonable time to comfortably enjoy! Shame - used to love this place but the rushed service didn’t match up to the cost

It’s been a long time since we have been to either of the Yauatcha restaurants and we were really looking forward to it. We were not disappointed - the welcome, service, food and wine were all superb. We went for the Dim Sun experience which was just right for us as we’re not the world’s biggest eaters and it includes the venison puffs which are a favourite of ours. The mix of tastes was brilliant. We won’t leave it so long this time.

Horrendous service, we were refused the request to be seated downstairs although plenty seating was available, which we saw when we used the bathroom downstairs! Starters were brought out after the mains, which was not only perplexing but of course food inevitably went cold due to this. Shocked and appalled will never return.

Been to yauatcha a few times before. And this time was for a pre theatre meal. I love the dim sum there. Food is great, so does the service. Although I don’t like the venue itself. Tables are too close together. It feels like a crowded café. I would suggest to make the toilets signs more clear. There were two men in the ladies loo and it shocked me a bit.

I really recommend yauatcha for a nice meal with really tasty food. Service was very good! Always alert but giving enough space.. The food was incredible… we start with Prawn Crakers, then Soft Shell Crab baos and Wagyu beef puff (one of the best), crispy aromatic duck that was really good and a Classic sweet and sour pork with egg fried rice to finish. What a journey!!

I used to rate this place very highly but unfortunately our experience today was poor. We waited over 15 minutes to have our initial order taken and it generally felt like we weren’t looked after very well. The food was great as always but it was marred but the long waits.

The service and food was great! The Dim Sum was some of the best I’ve had and recommend the Lobster dumplings. Also you have to try the deserts they were delicious. The staff could not have been more attentive and made sure we had a lovely time. Can’t wait to come back.

Super slow service - have been several times before and this was exceptionally slow Also one of the mains (noodles) was incorrectly prepared and had to be re made - so by the time it was brought out again, the rest of the food to eat it with had gone cold. Not the best experience we’ve had here
