Greek dining is as social an experience as it is culinary. Mezedes are the centerpiece of Christos’ menu, influenced by his travels throughout the Greek Isles to gain inspiration.
YEFSI features the traditional and contemporary Greek specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops, meats and an eclectic selection of contemporary appetizers.
YEFSI Estiatorio, lead by Executive Chef/Owner, Christos Christou is a stand-alone restaurant. It is not affiliated with any other locations within Manhattan.
Overpriced-- Just an upscale Greek Diner in nicer surroundings.
We were seated immediately and the service was great. Our server was very friendly, quick and had even provided a free dessert for my girlfriend’s birthday.
It was notably hot inside the restaurant during December and I’d suggest turning the heat down a bit.
Overall great experience though.
Meeting old friends
Initially we were thrilled to be seated in the rear of the restaurant. The cozy back room was a lovely treat and much more quiet than the main dining room. Unfortunately, just as our meal was served, a large party of 20 was seated and the noise level went up. We could barely hold a conversation over theirs.
The food was good and the ambience would have been perfect. I'll call ahead next time to assure this doesn't happen again.
Exactly what I wanted that evening for my wife and two kids. Very well greeted by the manager, waitress, and staff. The Italian feel, except greek!
Somehow I always manage to get a reservation easily even though they are always packed. Consistently good food, beautiful ambience, great waitstaff, healthful Mediterranean cuisine. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Food was wonderful, service was great.....but the noise level was intolerable!
Great Spanakopita and Lavraki grilled fish. Mama Joe at my breakfast coffee cart on 47th street knows them and says they are good people. Going once a week for dinner!
Great food and service
The food was very excellent, except the Tzatziki has been better the many times that I have been at this restaurant. I still will recommend this place to many people and the location was great for myself living by thee river.
This is an authentic Greek restaurant, and for those who want Mediterranean cuisine, there’s much to choose from in their extensive menu. The food is consistently delicious. The service is attentive and the waitstaff is ready to please. I have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed.
Wonderful home style Greek- no pretensions; excellent service!
We needed no/low salt, spray oil rather than olive oil - very accommodating!! And food was delicious as well!
Excellent food etc. got very noisy!
always a favorite for us to go alone, or to bring friends and family. Delicious, and lovely atmosphere.
We are exploring restaurants in our new neighborhood and were recommended to try Yefsi. We were pleased with the service, the food and the casual atmosphere. We were told it was noisy but our accommodating host found us a lovely table in the garden room. We will be glad to dine there again.
Horribly noisy. Could barely hear my date speak. Waiter was not attentive. While the food was good, it was a terrible social experience. Lots of Greek restaurants in NYC that are more quiet.
Our main courses were very good, and service was fine. But, restaurant loses points for skimpy portion on the spreads and over-priced drinks.
Fine food and service.
Excellent neighborhood Greek restaurant. Great food, comfortable and warm.
we've been there many times and still a favorite for us.
Always a special evening when we dine at Yefsi Greek Restaurant. The food is superb, the ambience wonderful and the service is excellent. It’s our favorite place when meeting our daughters or friends for dinner where no one has ever left feeling less than thrilled with the evening.
The service was great and for tatted even better! Will visit again soon.
We were visitors from out of town and needed a place for a quick family catchup. YEFSI popped up. We didn't know what to expect but it was everything and more for the evening. Great food (tons of shareable plates) and the dessert hit the spot.
Server was greek and super nice and attentive. Loved the food.
Yefsi is a great place for an evening meal or special occasion. The food is delicious (especially the “yefsi chips”) and the service is great.
enjoy the food very much. sat in the rear garden area which was very nice.
we had an excellent waiter (don't know his name)
The food is always good, a little pricey, but we enjoy every bite. The staff is warm and welcoming.
Very good food. Nice wait staff. A bit cramped and definitely loud. Something to absorb the sound a bit would make it even better.
Excellent menu of nice dishes that we found easy to choose for ourselves, as well as the kids.
Overall great experience
Love the food and the people! Wonderful neighborhood feel.
excellent service and very, very good Greek food. a bit pricey (particularly the wine list and a $17 martini!), so don't go as often as I would like, but when looking to treat ourselves, always a great experience.
This was my first visit to Yefsi. No matter where you sit, the noise level is somewhat loud. Service and food is excellent!
We like this restaurant and the apps were great, but the entrees were disappointing this time. Overcooked fish and soggy green beans...not up to par. We will go back again because usually the food is much better but something was off this night and it took too long to get our check.
Great service and while the food was good (average) it is way overpriced. There are better Greek spots in the city for this price range.
We had the haloumi cheese and yefsi chips to start and grilled salmon. Both were delicious. The service is quick and responsive. The restaurant was full and the noise levels a bit too high. I would certainly recommend restaurant but suggest sitting toward the back where it is quieter.
Delicious food but noisy
Very nice, cozyy restaurant with good food and caring manager and its best feuture is that there is NO TV anywhere in the restaurant which is so annoying at other places. Restaurants are for eating and talking and NOT watching insipid TV shows.
Good food. A bit noisy. Great service. Server should replace dirty utensils in between meals instead of just putting them back on the table.
