with sweet pepper & onion
pieces of bread topped with prawn mix & sesame seeds and fried
lightly fried with salt & pepper
Best chinese food I've ever had I love it here and I plan to go again in April
Excellent service and delicious food in a pleasant setting.
Great food as always, it was CNY so very busy and service was a little slow
Great view to the City Airport. Food is very nice too. Parking is not free.
Bring back the live music. I remember the days with the singers so sorely missed.
We really enjoyed Yi-Ban. Food and service both great. Best place to eat near the ExCel.
This restaurant is a family favourite and as usual the food was great. Still find it quite expensive, so only visit on special occasions.
When you arrive outside it’s not obvious you are arriving at a restaurant, it’s such a vast building. You step inside and there is a massive staircase! There is a lift! No reception at street level so you are a little unsure as a result of that there is a restaurant there!. But we ventured upstairs to see what was there and saw a big sign for the restaurant. Saw 2 sets of double doors. Went in, lots of diners, but nobody to actually greet us. Stood there about 30 seconds before we just walked in to the room more and THEN someone made contact. Probably need to work on their meet n greet procedures. Anyway.
Great table overlooking the water with far reaching views to the city. I had requested a round table which was near the window and they had it exactly as I requested. Service was good, and our waitress was smiley. Went for set menu. We had someone in our party with a moderate nut allergy. There menu clearly asks you if you have allergies and to let them know. Which we did. She advised they not eat the aromatic duck as nuts are involved in the cooking but in our food selection that was the only item. The food was great. There were 6 of us but we ordered set menu for 5 people and it was enough food with very little left over. They should really improve the entrance with some signage and have a better reception desk as you walk in to the place but that’s my only real suggestion for improvement.
Food is not radically amazing but it’s good Chinese, served hot, tasted good. Nobody voiced any issue with food, we had a great laugh too, felt relaxed and service was not overly intrusive. We had 3 bottles of wine, which is sensibly priced. Total bill including wine and starter platter as part of the set menu was £40 each including service charge, which we all thought was good value.
Just needs more kerb appeal and I think it would improve the place a lot. But would go again for sure.
Good quality food although not amazing. Service was efficient and friendly. Nice outlook over City Airport and river Thames. Would go there again and try the soft shell crab and salt & pepper squid. We went for Menu B for 2 and there was more than enough to eat. The Wine was rather expensive and should have been chilled more. Handy location if staying at ALoft hotel.
The roast duck (off the bone as requested; but with an unannounced and unexpected £1 extra charge!) and crispy pork were good. The ordered vegetables were ok. Singapore noodles so-so. The mixed seafood platter was definitely overpriced!
Service seemed uncoordinated without an apparent dedicated waiter to our table. It was very noisy so if we return, it'll probably be for lunch instead.
I asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill and this was done promptly and without comment. I prefer to give tips in cash direct to the waiting staff.
We would still go back but definitely not during their expected busy periods. The noise ruins the experience I think.
Open Table app didn't work, they weren't expecting us when we turned up.
Despite this we were found a table by the window which was appreciated.
Nice food, quick service. Staff could do with being a bit more smiley.
The reason for low stars, I booked the table andcdomeone else had said they were me and had our table, the man who was attending us at first was flippant but the girlsvthee sorted us out near the window, food was lush, and the only other poor rating was not a good choice of desserts
Very lovely setting and good food for a reasonable price.
Very expensive. Service poor. Place dated. Wont go back again.
The food was tasty and the service was lightning quick.
If you don't mind the sound of planes taking off every 5 minutes and it taking 3 days for an email to be confirmed for reservation, then this is the place for you!
Superb food and delivered quickly... There was 7 of us and we went for a banquet...
Didn’t get a seat by the window as requested but the food and service was good.
Food quality at Yi-Ban is consistently good. Service is efficient and friendly. Decor is simply and practical, however lots of hard bare surfaces means it tends to be quite noisy especially when busy.
Absolutely Brilliant! Great view, great food, good portion, friendly staffs!
Really good cantonese with fresh ingredients.
We had previously been to Yi-Ban, and wanted our children to also experience this restaurant. Top venue, top service, top quality food, easy to book a table via the website. Excellent evening that we will all remember. Food was outstanding. Perfect evening.
Overpriced and very little meat in the portions. But very nice view of the airport & water.
Good food and quick to be served, attentive staff +++
We booked a table on line
Very good service
Food was excellent
Very busy but staff were very attentive
bad bad bad
Very noisy place but the food is so good and super fast service. I would gladly come for dinner again!
A busy restaurant but the family and I were extremely happy with the food and and quick service offered by the waiters. I would definitely go there again.
I reserved a table for 4 and was placed on a table for 8+. So I had to request to be reseated. They did so with some hesitation. Had to pay for parking. Very noisy, no ambience.
Nice middle-market Chinese restaurant with great views over London city airport. Food was good, although service was a little slow. I had booked this place for a quiet dinner for two, but the design and furnishing of the restaurant mean that when full, it is really quite noisy. If you are looking for somewhere stylish & modern for a fun night out, this is it. If you are planning a romantic dinner for two - probably not.
Very important note: the carpark immediately outside is pay-by-phone with fees payable at all times (24x7x365). It is also regularly patrolled. So, don't forget to complete parking payment before you enter the restaurant.
Nice food and good value. Love the airy space overlooking Royal Albert Dock.
I definitely would NOT return to try more dishes. The wanton soup and galric asparagus was terrible. Service was well-timed and friendly though.
The dim sum was really tasty and good value for money. Porridge was a bit tasteless. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious. A good variety of dim sum for a good price as well. Would definitely go back again!
Service was good, attentive staff. Food was huge in portion-size and tasty but not high-brow chinese. we loved watching the planes take-off and land and then the snow fall. Nice atmosphere - all ages and groups. Good for a casual meal, noodles were yummy.
Great restaurant overlooking the dock and City Airport. Food and service excellent. Reasonably priced. My party of three had a set meal. Plenty of food.
It was OK, food & service was average, price was good
Tasty food and very quick service
Very nice food overlooking the City Airport. Try to get a table near the window to watch the planes come in and out. Food great, back 2 nights in a row and been in previous years with events at the London excel centre this is very close by.
Food great, the banquets are great value and service pretty good. Chinese beers and very nice Sauvignon Blanc.
Would advise booking via Open Table as it is always busy.
The entrance is a bit worrying- I honestly thought the restaurant must have closed down! From a car park- enter through what looks like office door and go up some service stairs. In side the restaurant saying that it was buzzing. Big round tables which I like. Completely bright spot lighting so certainly not a cosy ambiance and extremely spartan decor.
Food was medium to good standard Chinese fare at reasonable prices. Would go here for a group meal but not a romantic evening for 2 which was what we wanted. All in all perfectly fine for a friendly casual group night out.
Restaurant is well situated with on site parking and views of the river. Food was lovely and good value for money. We had a set meal for 2 : starter platter, duck and pancakes, spicy beef steak, sweet and sour prawns, vegetables and chicken in black bean sauce and special fried rice. All this for £28 each.
