Excellent food for the price.
The food was really good. The lady who I think owned the place was really pleasant and welcoming. Will definitely be going back.
I booked a table for 3 to celebrate my sons birthday. When we arrived and said we had booked they looked confused and said the only table they had was by the door. We sat there but were constantly bothered by the delivery drivers and takeaway customers coming in and and standing right next to us and it was cold as the door was being opened often.
The menu was not extensive but we all found something we wanted. The portions were not very big and we wished we had ordered more dishes. What we had was nice but the meat dishes were served well before the rice did, it would have been nice if they arrived together as the meat was getting cold while we waited. Food was nice.
The staff all sung happy birthday to my son which was unexpected but a good touch.
As always one of my favourites in London. In fact we have to travel across town to go. Unique dishes & tastes for an unbelievably good price. Great wine too which was a surprise. Lovely outdoor terrace when the sun is out. Fantastic and you must try.
Very much recommend the Gin Dara and the Volcano Rolls. Definitely become my new favourite Sushi joint.
We really enjoyed the food at this simple and authentic place - especially, the miso, sashimi and udon and will be back soon as represents great quality/ value. We visited early on a Sunday evening and were the only diners apart from the busy pick-up and delivery queue, so probably experienced the place at its least atmospheric. This isn’t a place for a special date night, but we’re glad to have found a fab nearby place for freshly prepared,Japanese food which makes us feel great.
Myself and my girlfriend went here for Valentine’s Day and had an ok experience. Whilst the food was very good and decently priced, we found the service quite poor. I understand that it was very busy that night but we were waiting around 30-40 mins for food at some point. The restaurant needs to not be available for delivery on busy nights as this slowed down the service for in house diners. Would maybe give it another try but only on a good day.
Nice local sushi restaurant, food and service were great, nothing special but very good!
A no deal eel, but sashimi rollin best in EU. Would recommend for you to try exsake that.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere
Never disappoints! Best Sushi in East London - great starters too
Delicious sushi and great options if you want to have something else. Would definitely recommend!
We had a great meal before going to a concert locally. The menu was interesting and the food was of a high standard. The service was prompt and obliging when we asked for extra pickled ginger. We would go back when we are next in the area.
Good sushi - service was very slow - although waiter apologised. Too much sauce on some dishes. Nice not to travel too far.
We had a really lovely evening here, grazing our way through goodness knows how many plates of sashimi and sushi. The rainbow maki was especially noteworthy, as was the wonderfully refreshing octopus sashmi. It was all serve in a comfortable environment with just the right level of background sound to keep private conversations private without drowning them out, and with service which was there when you needed it but far from being overbearing.
I should also mention that our guide dogs were welcomed too, with a large enough table to accomodate us all comfortably.
All in all, this is a great find, and one I would be most happy returning to.
What a find! It was recommended by a friend, I have passed by so many times, but not any more.
The food was excellent and reasonably priced and better than most expensive Japanese restaurants.
I will be back as a regular.
Always fabulous food, fresh sushi and lovely staff.
Lovely people, great grub, soft shell crab hmmm, unpretentious. I'm a fan!
It was our first time there and we had a delicious meal in the outdoor area, which is really pretty. Loved the sashimi and rolls especially. Staff were helpful and friendly. Not too expensive: more than we would spend for a casual/everyday dinner, but good value for an occasion. Would definitely recommend.
Great service and quality of food. I come here once a month and it never disappoints.
Yida Sushi was a great dinner - fast service and great quality. Portions were ok for the price but we would definitely return!
Always excellent. Great staff and lovely ambience.
I keep coming back so that in itself is a good story! The sushi and sashimi is good value and the tempura prawns are wonderful. The menu is varied and interesting so something for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful and very accommodating. We arrived very late for our table but they happily accommodated us. Will be back again soon, no doubt.
The food is excellent here. It wasn’t very busy so lacked atmosphere on a midweek night. However the food and service were great
The sauce with the volcano maki is quite nice.
Rice is quite soggy and tasteless, quality isn’t great so isn’t worth the price.
I loved my visit here. Will definitely return again soon. Absolutely delicious food.
Great service and deliciously authentic Japanese food! Comfortable atmosphere, perfect for dates or catching up with friends.
Good sushi and good service (a bit too rushed maybe but okay) and I will come back for sure.
It's an amazing Sushi place with authentic cuisine. I took a couple of old friends of mine to Yida and we all absolutely loved it. Don't expect this place to be some huge canteen with mediocre food - this is the real deal!
A meal that surpassed any expectation. Lovely food cooked amd presented with great care. Delightful service too.
I went to this place for the first time last week with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. We were chatting for ages catching up and the waiters left us to it which was nice. I hate it when a waiter will come over numerous times to try and take your order when you are clearly not ready. Once we were ready and we shut our menus, he was over and took the order straight away. The sushi was fantastic and amazing value, we couldn't believe the quality and the value for money. We had a Gyoza portion each to start (veg and chicken), then 3 x sushi platters at 8pcs each and a bottle of wine and it came to £27.50 each. We left feeling full and it was a great evening. Definitely a neighbourhood gem and I will definitely be back! Soft Shell crab and crispy Salmon was the best.
Definitely book a table beforehand - small restaurant. Absolutely delicious food
My partner and I have been going to Yida for a few years. We always love the food. Best salmon sashimi in town. Thank you.
The food is very good and I think it’s generally good value for money. But the staff, though not giving bad service, definitely took its sweet time to take our order or to even collect payment, making me and my kids wait around before I had to remind them that I wanted to order/pay. But it’s really good food. We very much enjoyed it and are definitely planning on going back.
Outstanding food. We were literally surprised at high a standard sushi we were eating. Shame about the atmosphere. Most of the staff attention was going to the endless takeaway/delivery service they provide. One delivery driver was being loud and aggravated and this is all happening in the restaurant, no music playing... There was one nice fella serving us but it just didn't cut above all the rest of the nagatives. Great Sushi though, really great. Next time we'll stay home and order take away!
Having lived in Japan I can honestly say that the good here is genuinely pretty authentic! Delicious
Solid sushi restaurant, consistently good and never too noisy.
We like this restaurant and this was the first time (of many) that we were a little disappointed in the tastiness of both the rainbow sushi and the hand roll. Maybe it was because the owner was away or maybe there was some other reason but the service was lacklustre and inattentive, the food presentation and quality was less good than usual and the ambience for a Saturday night was low. Still, we will try again as it is a good neighbourhood restaurant, though now, inevitably, doing more takeaway (maybe that was a diversion...)
Also, having reserved through Open Table and announced this on arrival, there was little attention to this when we arrived so I was unsurprised later to find my booking had been subsequently deleted by the restaurant - so I rang to get it re-instated!
Hopefully our slightly disappointing experience was a one-off - and don't let this put you off!
Really great sushi place in Islington. Cozy atmosphere with a nice outside terrace in the back. The food is tasty and authentic (so no fish and chips for you, sorry). Choose this place instead of a boring sushi chain restaurant.
Yida is a keeper - The fish is very fresh, the rolls are well constructed, the price is right and the terrace was a bonus.
