Peach Walnut Pork Chop (You Only Love Our)
grilled peaches, toasted walnuts and finished with a fireball whiskey glaze; served with mashed potatoes and vegetable
We have dined at Yolo frequently but after this last experience will not be returning. I don't know if our waitress was just inexperienced or couldn't multi-task but she ignored us lost most of the night. Our party of 4 got our drinks at different times. When wrapping up our food instead of taking it directly to the kitchen to wrap up she took it with her to multiple stops even the bar, would've rather been given the option to wrap it up ourselves. I ordered the wild blossom which i always order while I dine (food is always been amazing). I asked for no vodka in it, I received a glass that was 1/4th full and when the bill came I got charged full price. When I asked the waitress about it she cut me off and said she'd send the manager over, who was just argumentative, he lowered the price eventually. Our whole party was just disappointed. We watched all the other waitresses tend to their tables and people that were seated after us get their drinks and bread first and Jillian wasn't even friendly or pleasant. It's the first time ever we didn't tip a waitress.
Once again Justin and his team never disappoint. Great food and atmosphere.
The food was good, not the best I’ve ever had but still really nice. The music playing in the background was questionable (the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song played during dinner) and at the end of our meal we were hoping to get an after dinner drink but were told they had “other parties coming in” so we felt as if our table was being pushed out to accommodate others. There was no room at the bar to move to so we had to leave.
Very nice experience
The food simply was not good unfortunately. I ordered a pork chop with peaches and it honestly was too sweet and tasted like a bad dessert. It was served over cold potatoes and undercooked green beans... seriously was not good so did not finish the entree. My gf had stuffed haddock which had way too much lemon flavoring to the point where you couldn’t taste anything else. It was stuffed with crab that has so much filler in it, sort of tasted like a wet piece of bread. We also had a sampler of stuffed mushrooms, peppers, and a crab cake and was not a fan of any of it. The mushrooms were stuffed with essentially “queso” which was a weird mix and sort of bland, the pepper was okay but definitely had better, and the crab cake once again was lacking crab. The service was good but the restaurant itself seemed like it was a former club or something, the design was kind of weird with not much on the walls and an open area for seating... this is an honest review and trying to be fair... everyone here was friendly but simply will not be coming back to this place, food was simply bad and I ordered a variety of things .
Great restaurant overall, Justin does a great job.
Great drinks, great dinner. Will definitely return!
Celebrated my birthday here. Food was fantastic, service was great, and loved the ambience. Get the Calamari!!
Food is always delicious! Drinks amazing!
YOLO is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We can always depend on it for excellent food at a reasonable price. The service is excellent with a very friendly staff.
The Cajun Ahi Tuna was a little tough, I had to use a knife to cut it, where my wife was able to cut her Sesame Ahi Tuna with her fork.
First time at YOLO and I will definitely be back. Our waiter shared with us that it was only his 2nd day and he was already doing great! Everyone was helpful and very pleasant.
Yolo never disappoints. We are so glad they are open again for indoor dining.
I love dining at Yolo. It's a suburban restaurant with a downtown vibe. The food and service have always been excellent and the bartenders never disappoint me when making specialty cocktails
Have always had great meals at Yolo, it's a favorite place to go. I ordered the ribeye, which is expected to be marbled, however, this piece of meat was nothing but gristle and impossible to eat unlike fat that renders as it is cooked. The server did not come by until he was clearing the table . When asked if I'd like to take the leftovers I said no thanks the meat was nothing but fat. His reply was dismissive and that Ribeye is always that way to which I said it was incorrect as I have ordered it before and this was just not able to chew as was evidenced by the pile of gristle. His handling of the situation was poor at best. Too bad because the other three in my party loved their meals.
One of the best restaurants in WNY !
5 Star food equaled only by 5 star service.
YOLO is our neighborhood restaurant. We go there a couple of times a month and are never disappointed.
The staff end waitservice were very attentive and high class.
Gluten free bread would have been nice to have but otherwiee the food was delicious but small portions.
Server was fantastic. Decor and ambiance was much better than anticipated
Great drinks and food but was there for 2 hours plus overall food took a while and was a pricey restaurant. Small portions but again everything was delicious
Excellent cocktail menu. Service was great and food was delicious!!
In our never ending quest to try new places we drove out to East Amherst for dinner at YOLO (You Only Live Once). Dinner was well worth the drive. The restaurant is modern looking, neat & spacious. We were promptly greeted & seated. Our server quickly came to our table with water & inquired about beverages. We ordered a bottle of wine which I thought was fairly priced for a restaurant. We were served a small loaf of warm bread with butter balls. The bread was good. Having it served warm is always a nice touch. The menu is quite large. There are several items ranging from appetizers, salads, sandwiches & full dinner entrees. I think there is something for everyone on this menu. For an appetizer we went with the Justin Sampler - Two stuffed mushrooms, a stuffed hot pepper & a crab cake. All of these items were very good with the mushrooms stealing the show. They were simply amazing. For dinner my wife went with Chicken Milanese & myself the Peach Walnut Pork Chop. Both came artfully placed on the plate with the same sides consisting of mashed potatoes & squash. I was quite pleased with finding the squash on my plate. I think too frequently the default vegetable is broccoli or asparagus. It was nice to see something fresh & seasonal on the plate. My pork chop was prepared to my requested doneness. The peach walnut glaze was quite good. There was an abundance of large peach slices that I found quite good when eaten with the pork. I was very happy with my choice as well as was my wife. Her chicken was very good & ample enough that she had a decent lunch the next day. We were very happy with our meal & service. Our waiter was attentive & kept our water full. He came back after we were a few bites into our meal to inquire if we were satisfied with our meals now that we had a chance to taste them. About half way through our meal another gentleman also came by to make sure we were pleased. I recommend trying YOLO & will probably return with friends that live out that way.
Service was terrible, food was terrible and we were out where there were no lights or fire, even though we had made outside reservations.
Enjoyable and safe
10/17 was our first time going out to eat indoors since covid. All the workers followed guidance, the food was great as usual. If you're hesitant about going out to eat indoors w Covid, highly recommend YOLO. Great job and glad to be back inside!
Great dinner and atmosphere.
The scallop appetizer was not with 17.00. The scallops were small but did taste good.
A beautiful restaurant with a nice variety of menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience
The heated outdoor patio drew us to fine out in Covid times .
Our waitress, Alexis delivered outstanding service. From the warm bread and butter, every course was prepared to our liking and served promptly. Soft drinks and ice tea were refilled without having to ask. A great local place to frequent and difficult times
Great food and great service Will return for sure. One of the best restaurant to go to.
Our favorite "go-to" restaurant. Quality and service always the best. Don't miss it!
Great spot on the patio. Great food and service on a beautiful evening
Great service, food served hot.
Porkchop was amazing.
Overall menu selection was great. Pricing was reasonable. Quality and quantity of each meal was awesome. Recommend without hesitation or reservation.
YOLO has great food, great service and a great location. We enjoy being repeat customers.
Thursday is half price bottle of wine. Pair great food & wine for the evening.
Good quality food at a fair price . The service was very good too. I would definitely go back as they had many nice choices on the menu.
I have been a customer of YOLO for years and the patio is fantastic.
