Zayna reflects the personality of Riz Dar who spent his formative years around Kashmir and Punjab and whose first job was in his father’s restaurant in Pakistan.
It’s no surprise then to find a menu of North Indian and Pakistani delicacies. It comes divided according to cooking method, from the pan, grill, tawa or oven; but look out for the refined street food using offal.
He is passionate about produce: spices are roasted and ground in house and only halal meat and free-range chicken are used.
Dishes come packed with flavour.
Riz Dar is a chef for whom cooking is a real art form. Central to the restaurant is a focus on using high-quality products, he is mastering the culinary techniques, taste and refined cuisine and, most importantly, he is consistent.
Zayna is tucked away behind Marble Arch tube station – a welcome relief from the mayhem of Oxford Street.

As always, a delicious meal. We cannot wait to return!
This is one of the best finds if you want a good curry! I have been to all the Mayfair Indian restaurants and the curries here are top notch. The lamb curry was one of the best I have tried. Service was friendly and great. Great atmosphere can’t recommend highly enough and the price is extremely reasonable!
I am a regular but not frequent visitor to Zayna and it never disappoints. The food is always tasty, high quality and well-presented; the service is always friendly. It's a consistent, value-for-money go-to for quality Indian food in Marylebone. Well recommended.
Fabulous restaurant recommended by friends. Attentive and friendly service and delicious food. Just loved it.
Food was very tasty-there was no particular problem or concern but we overall felt that we had tasted in the past tastier Indian cuisine than in Zayna and it was not as expensive. We got 3 main dishes and 4 beers and we paid well over £100. Cobra beer was definitely overpriced which makes you wonder for the prices. I understand the restaurant is in Marylebone but still...I wouldn't go back but the only reason would be the prices, not the food. If that changes a bit, I would definitely consider going back!
Menu and Drinks list were via QR codes. Our group felt Covid measures were good. The staff were fantastic. The most important thing, the food, was absolutely incredible. My favourite restaurant in the area.
Incredible Pakistani food, elevated to Michelin Star quality my a masterfully talented chef!
My wife is Pakistani so I know the food well, and this was some of the best desi food that this gora has ever eaten!
Service was excellent, attentive and friendly and the Ambiance was lovely as New Quebec street is currently closed to traffic and outdoor seating is extended out onto the pavement.
Highly recommend for a special delicious meal!
Great food. Never a bad meal and very nice atmosphere.
Nice place. Good food.
Overall pretty disappointing especially for the price paid. Food was decent however service was not polished at all. There was no cocktail menu and when asked they could only make a rose/lychee martini which were both very sweet and masked what little gin was apparently in it. Quality of the paneer was very good although the paneer tikka marinade was very salty and the palak paneer was very dark and quite spicy. The black daal was a real disappointment. Naan and roti were good. Our dessert, a mango and lime sorbet, was very sickly sweet and felt store-bought. It was also extremely noisy at around 8pm so not the best for a date night. Would not recommend.
With minor improvements I will come back. Based on my experience and given the competition in London - they must fine-tune. Food probably was better but the overall service did not let it come through. There is a gap between being pitched as a high-end establishment and the level exhibited. I never say never but. The wine list is appropriate - but the staff did not look or sound familiar with it. Perhaps I did not dress or look like I should know but I sure do know a thing or two about gastronomy and wine. Location - super. I will keep watching this space and will return when the reviews merit the price-point. Wishing Well.
Lovely food. Very attentive and polite staff. I agree it's on the expensive side but the food was excellent.
It was so good we are going back
Food was not good at all . Service was ridiculous. Waiter didn’t know what he was doing
Having dined at Zayna, a number of times, I have to say the food is consistently good and service excellent. They are in a fantastic location and would recommend to anyone whom loves authentic traditional Indian food
I've never had a bad meal at Zayna. The food is always delicious, and the service is friendly and good. It's a neighbourhood gem!
Amazing food and service!
Would definitely go again
Amazing dinner the service was 1st Class and the food was perfect. Great location and lovely restaurant.
As Zayna have decided to come off Opentable books, this review is pointless! It is very good food but expensive we thought.
First time we went to this place. Excellent food, quite spicy so it might not be for everybody. Service was fine and efficient but could pay more attention to details (removing empty plates etc)
The food was absolutely fantastic. Fresh ingredients expertly prepared. Definitely 5+ stars for the food.
Zayna a was recommended to us and it certainly delivered. What a little gem. If you are looking for beautifully cooked food served well you may book with confidence.
I didnt like the food at all
We were very impressed. The food was excellent, as was the service. Many of the main courses are available as half portions. We had appetizers followed by 2 half-portion mains and the Shahi Palak full portion- an outstanding dining experience!
Very overpriced especially considering small portions. Waiter indifferent. Meal felt rushed although we had lots of time - food came one course after another with no break in between.
I have eaten at Zayna on a number of occasions over the last couple of years. I live overseas and Zayna is now one of the first places I visit when I am in London. The spicing of their food is really good and I like that they also serve quite authentic dishes. Much as I enjoy some of the more modern cooking of a number of Indian restaurants in London, I would always come back to the honest and straightforward style of Zayna.
Nice place, good food and perfect service.............people very charming
One of the best restaurants serving Indian / Pakistan food I have eaten in. Amazing lentil soup for starters.
The food was excellent, but we ended up in the very small basement dining room. We missed the cheerful buzzy ambiance of the main dining room, and made the experience much less pleasurable.
The food was very good but the setting downstairs was a little stale so make sure you ask for an upstairs table. Reasonable prices for the food but the drinks prices were ludicrous (£17.50 for a double + mixer). We discussed this with the manager who informed us about the rationale for this (imposed apparently) so accepted it. Overall would go back for the food which was some of the better indian food i've had in London.
Very good resturant but you need to be upstairs..food quality is very good.
An excellence for Indian food in London. The food was wonderful and service was just excellent. we will go back again!
Lovely place. Friendly service. Good menu. Food was delicious. Bit pricey (mains £16-19) but knowing that I'd still go back again. Lamb was top quality
A true dining experience. We did not look at the menu, the owner came to take our order and we asked him to send us his best dishes. After that it was all a visual festival of scents and tastes. A great experience.
Rude abrupt indifferent service with nondescript food. What a great combination!!
I was recommended to try this restaurant and I was very glad to have visited. My friend and I shared the pakoras and some popadoms to start with - both amazing and so moreish! I had the starter portion of the tandoori salmon because it's such an uncommon dish in Indian restaurants I've been to and I also got the butter chicken. The salmon was the right amount of spicy and very soft and flavoursome. The chicken was also amazing - normally I dont care for much sauce but I was so pleasantly surprised with this dish. For the first time ever, I mopped it up with the peshwari naan bread my friend and I shared. When booking, I was so happy to see the vast number of fish and also vegetarian options as my friend doesn't eat meat. She had the paneer and the Dahl and said both were delicious.
Place is kind of cosy and staff is friendly. We ordered the Murgh Taka Tuk and Ishtu. The Murgh was tasty and somewhat hot even tho the waiter told us everything was cooked medium. The Ishtu was very strange and reminded us more of a stew with some indian spices rather than authentic indian/pakistani food. I would not recommend it to anyone. The lamb in the Ishtu was tender so atleast that's a plus. I feel like there is plenty of better options for indian dining in the Marleybone-area.
The restaurant is in a great location. Staff are friendly and welcoming and are helpful with the food and wine selection. Great tasting food and good portions, a good choice for Indian/Pakistan cuisine.
Such a delicious meal with terrific and helpful service
Food was a little bland, very expensive and food wasn't all that
