Zest Restaurant @ JW3
It was all better than expected. The food was particularly good and the service was attentive. It was very feasible to have a good meal and be well on time for the evening event.
Tasty food, small plates are good but definitely small. Watch it if you have a big appetite . Very welcoming service.
I found the menu quite difficult as much of appeared to be spicy. However I chose a starter plate of Babaghanoush with walnuts and pomegranate which was very tasty.
The service left a lot to be desired as there seemed to be only two waitresses who did not keep their eyes on the diners and it was difficult to attract attention. Considering the tables were only sparsely filled this let down our enjoyment of the restaurant.
Food was lovely 👍
service lacking a little, staff could smile it goes a long way ....
quite pricey for size of dishes
A wonderful, local kosher amenity.
The staff are particularly delightful!
It’s a joy to be able to eat meat out and the lamb was great!!!
Starters were delicious!
Can’t wait for our next visit!
Thoroughly enjoyable as usual. One of the better kosher restaurants in NW London.
Always a fun evening with delicious choices of food for all 3 course.
All the service team are perceptive and helpful
Definitely recommended for a relaxed evening out or special occasions
I believe that there is no kitchen, and the food is reheated - it shows!
The service was friendly, food was plentiful though starters over-generous. Chick pea curry became boring as the rice didn't provide a contrast and much more spinach or other green veg would have made a better balance.
The food was fabulous, a real knockout & I’d say the value was excellent compared to other establishments of a similar standard. The venue/ambiance let’s it down a little, but I’d go back for the food without question
Everything is for sharing so can order more dishes to try. Starters came quickly. Everything we had was good. Server was helpful in suggesting what to try. Fairly noisy but overall very good and will definitely return!
Fabulous food, well-presented. Delicious starters and even more delicious main course and dessert. Service was a bit haphazard but friendly and obliging. Not for those on a low budget but worth it for a special treat.
We booked for the main restaurant but were disappointed to find that the only option open to us was a bottomless brunch for £24.95 which had not been advertised or mentioned on the website (I looked up the menu in advance). We had to move the cafe which was very loud and busy with families but did a nice plate of mixed salads and some latkes and pastries. This saved the day but I would have preferred to have eaten from the a la carte menu in the restaurant.
Food was delicious, definitely going back there for brunch!!!
I actually am not sure whether to say yes or no to recommending? The food was a bit overpriced but some of it was very nice. We were charged a £5 surcharge per person because it was the Christmas period but I would have liked to have known about this before. We were also charged service charge. So the meal was very pricey but some of the food was nice. In particular I liked the chicken on mashed potatoes with peas and shallot. Also the corn fitters are very nice. The Toffee pudding and Tonka ice cream was not good at all.
Excellent food friendly service - a very enjoyable evening despite a table of 20 odd with young kids running around but we did eat early and fortunately we love kids !!
We were made very welcome with the staff being very helpful.
3 of us ordered the chick pea and sweet potato curry. We found very little sweet potato. The curry had a good taste but it was only warm. The rice looked nice but it was a mush. It had been put in a mold then turned on to the plate. The portion was very small for the money. We were unable to send it back as we were there for an event and had very little time.
We are frequent visitors to the Venue and usually have the salads which are excellent value.
A really nice restaurant in a pleasant environment. The food is excellent and there is a great selection.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The only disappointment was the desert which was rather underwhelming for the price.
Far too long to serve food when they knew we and most had show to See on site
Small portions of curry and rissoto for the price
everything was excellent except the choice of music
Wonderful Ottolenghi style and quality Middle East food. Absolutely delicious and good size portions. 100% Recommended!
Salt beef was too fatty and oily. Halibut was too fatty. Chicken koftas a bit too oily... Service was pleasant when we could attract their attention, but that was quite difficult to do
our first visit for sometime and i'm afraid very disappointing - main restaurant was very quiet, and service was equally underwhelming (cafe was busy) and menu was rather limiting for us. Our guests were happy with the vegetarian options - we regarded the meat alternatives as unappealing.
First time to Zest and I thought it was great. Food was delicious and a good variety to choose from. It was so good we had starters mains and dessert. Would definitely return
Fabulous Mediterranean type food, but kosher. Lovely. Highly recommend zest. Excellent waiting staff, very knowledgable. Delicious food.
The food as always was absolutely delicious. My only criticism was the way the menu is written. It says it is sharing plates that will come out as they are ready. So we ordered Sephardi fries thinking we would have them at the same time as our fish and duck. They were brought as starters tho and the other dishes were 20 mins later. That would be fine if it was billed as starters and mains but it wasn’t. Zesr, you did need to decide what you are offering- meals with the traditional courses or sharing plates Tapas style.
Pleasant airy /high ceiling room.
Delicious chicken main course.
Enjoyable degustation meal which is a rarity when one is kosher. Could have had an extra salad choice.
It was very quiet - but we were early. My guests and I enjoyed the experience. I will be back!
Highly recommended, very tasty and very good value
The menu sounds better than the food. The food was served like a meal prepared at home, but with no style. Although somewhat tasty, it could have been tastier. The Apple pie was a disappointment because it was not Apple pie it should have been called something different.
Lovely ‘bottomless’ lunch enjoyed with friend and family , with the percent view- the ‘beach’. Relaxing environment, and terribly child-friendly. Thanks. 🙂
Zest is a modern stylish Kosher restaurant in Hampstead, and that is its rationale. Food quality, value and the rest are secondary. But for the record the vegetable based starters were great - plentiful and delicious. The meat mains were heated up (not very successfully - my lamb was very cool) and a bit dried out. Serving meat with croutons rather than potatoes or vegetables was odd. The desserts were OK (parev, of course) and the wine was expensive, and kosher. Service was enthusiastic and the location is fun with a view of "Tel-Aviv beach" recreated outside the window. The industrial style design of the room, with a very high ceiling, inevitably is noisy. But we had a pleasant time and would go back with kosher family members.
Relaxed restaurant with high ceiling and big windows. The waitress was amazing. The food is of excellent quality.
This was a special occasion and we all enjoyed the meal very much. The food was more than adequate for us, but some people may find the portion sizes small. The service was very good and the waiting staff were very friendly. We will definitely visit again.
Appalling for vegetarians. All a tasteless mush. Beware...and expensive as well!
Very nice, quality food. Service was a little slower than we would have liked and we had to miss dessert to avoid missing the show. Expensive but no worse than other Kosher restaurants. Will definitely visit again but allow more time next time!
Really enjoyed dinner again at Zest- would highly recommend!
