Zizzi - Bankside
Had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a table despite table reservation for 13.00. And then Had to wait a long time for service- restaurant was full but it seems only 3 staff were looking after whole restaurant. Food was not great: Superfood salad with chicken was not great- Some salad leafs looked rather yellow/wilted. Classic Salami Pizza was ok. Zizzi at Bankside used to be good especially the food.
Good service, quality and price.
Food and service very good and attentive, gluten free menu a real plus. Only criticism being that we had to keep our coats on as we were a little bit chilly.
The atmosphere is nice especially when sitting in the booths next to the windows, with a nice nice view on the Thames River. The food is up to the brand's standards, we like Zizzi. However, compared to other locations we went to in the past, the service was very poor. WE waited around 10 minutes to be seated and the waitress could not find our booking on the sheet, so she left to 'figure it out', but ended up serving wine, and taking orders at other tables, right in front of us, standing in the entrance. The manager had to come in and confirm that we had indeed booked a table. The service was okay until we had to wait around 20 minutes once finished with our meals: the waiters were not aware of their surroundings, never looking up to check if customers were waiting for their food to be taken away or needing anything else, they seemed to be rushing although the restaurant was half empty (around 40 to 50 tops for 5 team members in the restaurant which I think is manageable) so I don't quite understand. Regardless, the waitress who took care of us (when she was) was very smiley and kind. If we hadn't waited so long after finishing our meals, we would've gotten a dessert, but got sick of waiting. We would recommend the restaurant for the food, fair price and location, but not for the quality of the service.
Great place to go with friends for a good laugh and chat! Excellent gluten-free options, and service.
Outstanding customer experience, great location and views
Very good food, meal for two, starter and mains and drinks came to 48 quid . Value for money
Massive gaps between each part sitting down to ordering main to bill bill to payment
The location of the restaurant is good, overlooking the Thames. We had booked ourselves a table but when we arrived and got to the top of the stairs we were stood for a considerable amount of time without being spoken to, even though staff were continually walking past us, it would have been nice to be acknowledged even if we had to wait to be seated. The restaurant was very busy but it wasn't a great start. Once we got seated the service was actually fairly good! The food was what you would expect from a Zizzi, not poor but not outstanding. Based on how busy this was (a Saturday evening) it may be wise to book yourself a table in advance if you plan on eating here.
Our second visit with family. Some uncertainty as to whether they had our reservation, and then further uncertainty as to whether our party of 5 could sit at a table with adequate lighting, but then service and food was very good.
It was okay, nothing too special and the staff weren't too enthusiastic. Portions get smaller every time I go here, but overall not too bad.
Food took 40 mins. Was lacking in taste and cold in parts. Service was slow because place was understaffed given volume of customers. Waitress was pleasant, friendly and apologetic.
The food was little bit cold.
The service was very slow.
Didn’t start well as they had no record of our reservation for seven people booked through open table.
After putting together a table which was rather cramped the service started slowly but got a lot better once we latched onto a decent waiter.
Food good and pretty good value.
Great preshow meal on Bankside!
Disorganised restaurant. Booked on open table 2 weeks prior to event, received open table reminders but they had no trace of my booking which means they only print hard copies of bookings made directly with them and ignore Opentable, if there is a contract between the two Zizzi has broken it making Opentable appear useless and irrelevant and Zizzi management incompetent.
The floor service staff were great in managing the situation that arose but they have enough to do and should not have to deal with managerial incompetence.
The lunch menu was not available which was disappointing
Unfortunately this will likely be our last visit to this particular Zizzi. It seems that every time we go, even having booked a table, we are just left waiting for ages and ignored. This time it was for 10 minutes and I told 3 different waiters we had a reservation and they just said to wait for the Manager who also ignored us.
In fact whilst we were waiting a couple gave up in exasperation and left. There are no smiles to greet you and you are left feeling you are rather an inconvenience. Our waitress was lovely but got several things wrong on our order. Our table was booked for 7.30 and we had to wait till 8 to even get a drink (our tray of drinks was left waiting on the bar for so long my partner got up in the end to get it himself).
Nice dinner, service is great.
We were there for pre-dinner theatre. It was great. Very busy and lively. The restaurant has great gluten-free choices.
The staff were charming and the food excellent. Would definitely go again.
Although we had to wait awhile for our booked table,as the previous diners were still eating dessert, they kept us updated and were very apologetic. We were then shown to a table with a lovely view of the river and London skyline. The service was attentive and friendly the pizzas were huge and delicious and very good value. We will definitely return on our next visit to London.
Tutto ok, buona la pizza senza glutine.
Utterly enjoyable and very friendly. A delightful pre-theatre experience.
We had great service, our waitress was so good when my friend had a birthday and helped me keep the secret surprise cake. She also reserved me a really nice seat by the window. Thank you Zizzis!
Only two waiters for a restaurant that requires 5. Staff had very low moral and people were leaving after not being served. I took my wife there for a romantic evening. After sitting for 10 minutes we told that our drinks order will be taken in another 15 minutes. At this point we decided to leave as we were not happy with the atmosphere . We went to the Nando’s restaurant and iur food was served n less time thatbwe would have had to wait for our drinks order to be taken.
Great food, quick service and lovely view!
We booked a table for 6 at Zizzi's for my husband's birthday. It took 25 minutes before they came to ask us for drinks. They were short-staffed and it was not a nice experience when you are there for a special occasion. The food was good though!
Excellent location, great atmosphere, scrumptuous food, and captivating service ... so good that my daughter and I dined there twice on our one week holiday. We will definitely be back.
Zizzi on the southbank. Always very busy. Has view of the river.
This is a nice Zizzi overlooking the Thames and near to the Globe theatre.
I was very impressed with the level of service I a busy Good Friday. We booked online and asked in the comments section for a booth with river views as we were meeting out of town visitors. I am happy to say the request was met. We had a lovely view of the Thames at Bankside. The staff were attentive and alert with really good attitudes. The food was very nice - we are vegans and our meal was great. What a pleasure to be able to go to restaurant with our Omni friends and have as many options as they had. Most places have quite pathetic almost afterthought options for vegans. I am happy to say as a vegan I have no such problem at Zizzi hence the reason I choose this restaurant. Thank you Zizzi.
Great Zizzi with lovely views of the river, even if you don’t have a table by the window. Very near to the globe theatre so handy for pre theatre meals. They seem to close quite early and have had occasions where booked after show but they had stopped taking diners - which is a bit strange when they’ve taken the booking!
Visited many times and always a good e perience. Lovely views of river, and handy for the globe theatre.
Excellent value with January code for 50% off main course.
They did not have us on their reservation list, despite having made one. Fortunately we got there early, and had printed out our reservation confirmation.
We sat next to the window, which was beautiful. However it was HOT - fanning outselves with menus kind of uncomfortable hot. There are dropped ceilings above the window booths and it was as if the heat just couldn't escape.
The majority of the waitstaff was eating together at the booth next to ours, and they were very loud. We also had to flag down the one working server to get service after fifteen minutes of being seated.
The food was good, the rest of the experience was rather bizarre.
I was most impressed by the way we were given a four seat table with a view even though there were just two of us. Our waitress was extremely polite and attentive.
Had an evening meal following a shoe at the Globe.
Excellent food, great service and not overly expensive for London.
Would visit again!
Popped in before the theatre. Had good service and good food
