Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Bristol's Clifton Village branch does it all - they've got a large group seating area at the back of the restaurant or, if you're looking for an

Meerkat deal so very very good value, unfortunately we had very limited time so we were rushing as apposed to being rushed. Very chatty helpful waiter aware of our time frame and tried very hard to oblige. Would eat there again but keep away from the spaghetti Bolognese it wasn't great.

Ordered Calzone. Meal was lukewarm in centre at best. Obviously the kitchen didn’t bother checking the food temperature before letting it go out. Issue redeemed slightly by replacing it with another dish, hot this time. However, I don’t expect to be served poorly prepared food in the first place.

A family birthday dinner. Two ate from the regular menu and one from the gluten free menu. The gluten free pasta was a really small portion in comparison to the other meals and the pasta was not cooked through. After sending it back the same happened again. Also given a wine glass with lipstick on it. The staff were helpful and friendly but the food was not up to scratch.

Took our booking but when we arrived the restaurant was closed for maintenance.
It was busy in Clifton so couldn't go to any alternate restaurants for food and celebrations.
Thanks Zizzi!😡

This was a last minute booking for a Saturday night. We were lucky and got an alcove seat for 6, which was great as some of our group struggle to hear in large open plan restaurants. Good veggie starter shared plate and nice salad and salmon. Lovely staff. The skinny pizza was disappointing.

Very nice Zizzi in heart of Clifton Village. Lovely ambience and always extremely busy, so booking advisable. Because so busy service can sometimes be a bit slow.

Very busy zizzi in Clifton village. Service is very slow - but think it is just because they are understaffed? Food nice as any other zizzi. Need to book especially if several of you.

This restaurant in the ubiquitous Italian restaurant chain is in a small side road in Clifton Village in Bristol. It can be a little difficult to see, it's just past the co-op store. Much the same as any other Zizzi. Very busy, staff helpful but rushed off their feet which means you often end up waiting for courses for some time - which isn't good if you have children with you. However have eaten here many times and will probably do so many times again.

Parking is a little easier in Clifton but now you have to pay - the cause and effect. We needed a quick meal for a group of 5 as a prelude to an appointment. It worked, the food was tasty and the service acceptable. Early dining rarely allows attractive ambience and this was no exception. Scaffolding around the outside neither attracts, though external work of course has to be done.

It was ok and overall acceptable for what we wanted.

After spending all day on the phone which was never answered, we made an online booking which was accepted. When we got to the restaurant we were told that there was no booking, that they were running out of lots of the menu choices and that the service would be slow! We were also told that they were too busy to answer any phone calls!
The food actually came quite quickly and our waitress was excellent. Shame about your attitude to booking.

Tasty food. Busy atmosphere - can see your food being cooked as in most Zizzi restaurants. Service can be very slow - maybe because there is not enought of them. Wine choice could be better. Advisable to book, especially at weekends and if a larger party.

We visited with our family for husbands birthday. With 7 children, one of whom was a toddler in a high chair, we were made to feel welcome. At no time were we made to feel uncomfortable. Waitress was helpful and came quite quickly with starters but had to wait a really long time for main course - which is not ideal with little ones. We had great difficulty finding it as it is next door to a co-op and they had a huge delivery lorry right outside so were unable to see it! Food ok. One of kid's pizza was burnt but when we pointed out was replaced. Ok overall but quite expensive for what it was - and that was with 25% off! But for 11 people were catered for.

This is a good spot for lunch as it has a wide variety of food and pretty much something for everyone. So many restaurants currently have very strange menus and quite limited so this place appears to solve that problem with reasonable value.

Zizzi is run to a formula - so you always know what you are getting. This is fine - if not sensational. Always very busy so must be very popular. Clifton Village Zizzi is in a pleasant part of Clifton not far from the Suspension Bridge.

Pleasant evening, a few flaws from wholeheartedly recommending, but most down to Xmas period pressures - rowdy Xmas crowd put our waitress in a bad mood and they had run out of a few items. Waitors were good.

Was a lovely meal. Had a very tasty meal plenty of flavour and content to the dish. Mussels had been tossed in a pan so lots of broken shell which was a shame because they were amazing but it's not pleasant to chew on a shell! Overall lovely meal and lovely staff!

Zizzi's, Clifton, Bristol - They had run out of the dish my girlfriend requested, however were happy to adapt another dish to suit her better. Food (risotto and a salad) largely well presented and simple/nothing exciting as one might expect, however the ice cream was excellent! Very friendly service from the over worked staff. A good choice for a simple night out
