Zizzi - Cardiff
Eat at Zizzi last Saturday evening and had a pleasant meal. All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and courteous and the food was pretty good, unfortunately the size of the restaurant coupled with it being full meant it was almost impossible to chat over the table due to the background noise and that sadly spoiled our evening.
One of the best pizza in town. Quite expensive though.
Our group of four booked an informal lunch. Surprisingly the restaurant was quiet. The food choices were interesting, as were the choice of drinks. The sharing starters were excellent.
We were 15 minutes late. On arrival they denied we had a booking and said the kitchen was shut.
Luckily Prezzo down the road were much more helpful and we had a lovely meal there.
We booked a table for 8.30 pm following a show; we arrived 20 mins early, but this did not cause a problem and we were seated immediately. The service was faultless, we were not kept waiting at all, although the restaurant was buzzing with several large parties. Food was well cooked and very tasty - the Pollo and Funghi Risotto was exceptional! The staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, although they were very busy. Would recommend this restaurant and will certainly visit again.
Good food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Heineken Cup weekend so there was a great buzz. Despite being very busy the service was very good and professional. There were some delays between courses but that did not bother us as the meal was well paced and we expected this given the weekend that was in it. The only thing that let the meal down was the coffee at the end which was truly awful.
The service was a little relaxed. I felt they took too long and we're not as atentstive considering it was empty.
Once we made our order they advised us that they had run out of chicken breast, which meant we had to order another main from their new year set menu, which shows they were ill prepared for their new year set menu.
After the initial struggle to order and change one of our meals the food arrived quickly and hot, which was great.
It's a shame as it's a nice place and the food is good it was let down by their relaxed staff at the beginning.
We had a very good experience at this restaurant. We dined at Zizzi in Cardiff after the rugby on Saturday night. It was pretty busy but the atmosphere was great - a real buzz going. The food was lovely - I had one of the special salads with goats cheese which was generous, the pizza was good too - most impressive was the staff who were brilliant - really helpful polite and efficient.
We had a good meal, prices were reasonable. Service was good. A good meal. Thanks!
Having experienced poor service and indifferent food quality at other branches of Zizzi recently it was a joy to visit this branch. We felt the staff were genuinely interested, enjoyed their work and the food was well presented and freshly prepared.
All the people at Zizzi were very helpful and polite, this was just before the Olympic Football Bronze medal match, so Cardiff was very busy at the time. The food was very good, and arrived in good time considering how busy it was.
The building used to be a bank, and both the interior and exterior are quite grand, with high ceilings, and an attractive bar area. The only problem we had was that they did not have our booking, and when I showed them my confirmation email, they said "ah Toptable, that explains it". To Zizzi's credit they found us a table anyway at this very busy time.
This is the second time this has happened with Toptable, I am starting to lose faith.
Not a great experience at Zizzi in Cardiff. A fairly average meal with "going through the motions" service. This branch seems to have lost it's way!
Another visit to Zizzi in Cardiff and although the meal and service was generally up to their normal standard, it was very rushed, even though they were not particularly busy. Great if you are in a hurry, but it's nice to finish your mouthful of starter before the main course arrives!
Zizzi Cardiff - Welcoming with great service and a buzzy atmosphere. I enjoyed the meal but the pasta was a little claggy. Good value.
We ate here on a busy weekend in Cardiff.
The staff were very friendly and the service was quick.
Great tasting food!
Normally great for an inexpensive quick meal - service was slow this time - obviously did not expect a Monday rush!
Generally all good.
We dined at Zizzi's Cardiff for a Hen Do and the whole group (13 of us!) were extremely happy with the food and service. The waiter even kindly split the bill a whole 13 ways!
Delicious food (I highly recommend the lasagne and the cheesy garlic bread!) at reasonable prices. Will definitely dine here again.
Good value with the 25% discount. Zizzi is a good value for money restaurant where you know what you'll get. Good.
I took a chance, having read recent toptable reviews of Cardiff's branch of Zizzi. It'd been fine for a while then gone downhill very badly. But something has gone right. Service was excellent, the antipasti was fresh and carbonara superb. It's a cavernous place and was almost empty, so maybe some lunchtime 'specials' would tempt the shoppers in.....?
Zizzi, Cardiff. One of the nicest restaurants in the chain.
Zizzi - Cardiff City Centre.
The restaurant has a lovely open layout and is really quite big but retains a good atmosphere.
The staff were very polite and attentive. I was dining alone and was put in the corner of the restaurant which suited me well.
The toptable discount makes this an extremely good value dinner. I had: garlic bread, duck leg and then a chocolate cheesecake. All of these were very good, especially the duck which was an extremely generous portion.
Zizzi at Cardiff. Big portions and yummy food!
Zizzis always seem to have a nice atmosphere and quickly got busy with paying diners. The portion sizes seem to have got smaller from what they used to be at Zizzis or perhaps Zizzi's in Cardiff have smaller plates than those back in London. It must be said though that the manager was very friendly, helpful and it an enjoyable evening. Also at 2 mains plus wine for £20, what a bargain. Well done Zizzi.
