Zizzi - Colchester
We enjoyed the meal but despite booking when we arrived we were told no table was booked! Luckily there was a free table available.
Very disappointed with this visit. Definitely not the place to take the wife on a date night. My starter (calimari) was very bland and over cooked. Main meal was a lot better. Very busy and still had to wait despite booking a table. On the plus side the waiter was very freindly. Don't think I would go again.
The staff are lovely. So friendly and helpful. They make the evening special. Food is good too.
Good easy dinning
Great menu selection, vibrant atmosphere. We were seated quickly and were offered a drink. The waitress was very patient with us as we kept talking and not ordering! All in all though, when the food arrived it was hot, good quality and tasted very good. Nice evening, busy place and table quite close together, but all in all we had fun and would return, for an informal catch up and get together.
very reliable food and very good and friendly service. The best Italian chain by some margin.
Welcome and waiting staff were rude, abrupt and were quite unpleasant
Food however was excellent
The food is of very good portion size.
The waitress very friendly.
As usual lovely vibrant and busy restaurant with good food served with a smile.
I booked a table via the opentable website but was informed I should have called the restaurant to reserve a table when we arrived. We were seated on the mezzanine level with after some talk amongst the staff.
The waitress was very efficient and friendly. The have a very good Sauvignon Blanc on but that was the highlight of the meal for me.
Food was "ok" and that's all I can say on the food!! Myself and my party asked if we could be moved as we were sat on top of the door and we were cold with the door being opens with people in and out, we were told no as they were fully booked fair enough we thought but 10 mins later 3 tables left and not refilled, would of been nice to have been offered one of these tables but NO so we sat freezing all evening, poor waitress service in general too, won't be visiting again
Arrived to find they had no booking ! But where able to find a table as had e mail to confirm. Had some O2 offers for starters and desert, but could not use in conjunction with Tastecard like we had on previous visits. So should of left then.
We really like this Zizzi restaurant, there is always a good selection of Italian dishes and the service is quick and friendly. The only problem we encountered was that they had run out of Prosecco!
Food and value for money was worth the trip but the waiting staff were miserable, not a single one of them were smiling. They try to attract people to go there before going to the theater which is why we went (and made them aware) but the service was incredibly slow.
Good food nice surroundings staff attentive helpful. Enjoyable and good menu choices all round would recommend to others.
It was my first visit to Zizzi and found the staff very helpful and friendly, plus good food.
The service was pretty bad..everything was just put here, dumped there, including ourselves. She placed us at a table underneath a leaking roof!...which leaked all over my girlfriend, when I asked for us to move, the waitress said "yeah but just watch the bottles of olive oil though"...no apology, no assistance, nothing. We had a starter of sharing cheesy garlic bread and were given no plates so the crumbs went everywhere - when we finished they brought the main courses and dumped the plates on our table before collecting the starters first, dropping some of the leftovers into my main meal in the process.
The main courses were very poor. Sauces like water, pasta under cooked.
Although a slightly more expensive option, zizzi's food was of a very quality and the staff were extremely friendly. This restaurant also accepts the taste card
Zizzi's in Colchester is situated in town and is very convenient to get to as it is close to the high street stores so accessible to have a meal or coffee etc. The service was quick and swift. The restaurant itself is lively and warm.
Good set menu deal for christmas eve so dinner came in under £50 with wine and beer. Good christmas astomsphere. Only disappointment was that the dish I selected they had run out of but they provided a alternative from the higher price set menu
This is a well know eatery for us and as usual did not failed this time
staff not particularly jolly but was very busy cos of mothers day
This was my first vist to Zizzi and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a good meal, in nice surroundings with good service.
Great food and value. However Men's toilets in a poor state with urinals taped off and out of use and toilet not flushing properly!
The food was good at Zizzi, Colchester. Service was good. It was a little slow at times as there were several birthday parties in that were monopolising the waiting staff but that would be my only grumble.
Very good Ambience if you wish to spend a night out with friends or partner. We felt very welcome by the manager of the waitress. Price affordable. Would recommend it if you are looking for a reasonable prices.
A good visit with the exception of the end in that once we had finished our food and drinks it took ages to get anyone's attention to get our bill
Zizzi, colchester - god food, very busy as everyone else appeared to have money off vouchers.
Restaurant was full at it was Whitstable Oyster festival. Good friendly service. Used voucher which made it an excellent deal - £65 for a family of five including alcohol. Great pizzas, lovely pasta and risotto. Sauvignon wine great value for New Zealand at £4.65 a glass. Downside - we were a bit squashed in at our table as we were sitting in a thoroughfare and people were finding it hard to get by which was a bit annoying.
Zizzi - Colchester
Good fresh cooked food with a wide choice on the menu, waiter was very friendly and helpful. Nice wines. Service just paced right.
The food took a long to arrive. We complained and they were very appologetic and took a further discount of our bill for the inconvience. The food was lovely but would of been expensive without the toptable deal. The waitresses were lovely.
A very pleasant evening with relaxed service, food was very tasty although was offered garlic bread before having the three course valentines meal which also came with a mixture of antipasti.. by the time we got through eating all that bread we were both full and struggled to eat our mains... Great if you have a big appetite.
Over all enjoyed and will definitely book again.
Zizzi is always very enjoyable and with the special offer deal, is amazing. It's a great set menu my favourite Zizzi courses were on it. I pointed out we were actually there on a Friday but they let us have it, anyway. I left feeling ill with over-eating. Service was slow, but SO charming!
Zizzi at Colchester busy and nice building food fine. Struggled little as they had party upstairs and was very busy.
We went to Zizzi, Colchester and had a fab night. So we got there and it was busy but within a min we were sat at our table. There was a lovely atmosphere, busy but not too much. We went on the toptable offer 2 mains and a bottle of wine for £20. We ordered 2 pizzas for our main and they even dealt with my husbands "fussiness" and removed things from his pizza that he did not like without question. The pizzas were great, we were not rushed(despite only spending £20) and we had a lovely evening
