Zizzi - Edinburgh Queensferry Street
Food and service good if not outstanding. Main criticism is that the RESTAURANT DID NOT HAVE MY BOOKING. Fortuantely it was not full and we were accommodated without difficulty.
Very slow service, one meal wrong for the birthday boy and the pizzas were mostly bare bread, a small amount of sauce mostly piled up at the crusts and small dollops of cheese.
Having come to zizzis for years we will NOT be rushing back
Good food, wine and pleasant service. What’s not to like?!
Food and service excellent, atmosphere great. Temperature in the restaurant on the cool side, problem needs to be addressed.
Lovely waitress who was attentive to my whole family. Made the meal a pleasure. The pizza was a little bland, but I couldn’t fault the overall experience and we’ll definitely be back.
Warm and friendly service. Food is always good, we come here often.
After being seated we waited an unacceptable amount of time for our drinks order to be taken and that was only after I had got the waiters attention. Service generally slow. Overall the food was good though.
Very nice 3 course Christmas menu, , (prosecco £2 for first glass) with wine, coffee & a liquer
Total bill per person around £35. Excellent value for this time of year. Food tasty, staff friendly.
I was meeting up with 4 girlfriends on a Saturday night and we wanted somewhere fairly central. It was excellent, good food and good service. No complaints from any of us.
Nice open kitchen. Fresh, not fancy. Friendly staff
Lovely food - asked the waitress for my chicken to come on a hot plate. She said they did not have any plate warmers. I pointed out they had open pizza ovens and could the chef put my plate there for a minute to warm it up. I hate hot food on a cold plate - the food goes cold quickly and spoils the whole evening for me. However my food arrived on a hot plate - it was very good and stayed hot the entire time I was eating - will done - pity I had to ask for a hot plate in the first place though.
Lovely lunch with pleasant and good service from the young waiters.
Great meal. We both had entree salads after traveling all day. They were really good. We ended the meal with their salted caramel brownie to share. Delicious!
Food was lovely. Wine good but bit pricey. Staff pleasant and polite. Would be happy to eat there again.
We enjoyed our Christmas Eve family dinner. Wonderful selections and warm and gracious service.
It is exactly what it says it is. Fun noisy crowded Italian good food good vfm
Out for dinner to use Tesco vouchers. Good variety of food, different from other eating places. All 3 courses very tasty. Good service from Michelle. Will be back soon.
Booked using open table but when we turned up they said the booking had been cancelled and refused to admit us until I had proven the booking was made. The person on front of house was quite rude and unfriendly.
Great service and food!
Edinburgh was buzzing after the 6 nations rugby and so was Zizzi nevertheless our booking was honoured right on time, the food was excellent, service excellent even tho the restaurant was incredibly busy all in all excellent
we took a stag group of about 20 people and the service was brilliant. they sat us in a perfect location and the staff were friendly and willing to have a laugh. highly recommended
Good service, food and a menu slightly different from the many other chain Italian eateries.
Visited with my grandchildren. Restaurant was very busy but did not affect the service we received. Children's menu good value. Prompt and efficient service food good. Would recommend a visit.
The service was great and very efficient, but friendly at the same time. The food was lovely and we would definitely return.
An ideal restaurant for Italian lovers. The food is good though the location is not ideal for people on the station end of princes street or on the royal mile. The service was excellent and the ambience was relaxing.
Very nice meal and good service. Like the new look.
Rizzi offers italian food with a modern twist that works out very well. The staff could've been friendlier but the food was cooked with care and the raset was good.
Visited my favourite Zizzi's recently for a pre-Fringe risotto, pannacotta and prosecco - delicious as always. Great staff, always welcoming even when hectic :)
Second visit of the week, what more need I say? This time was with an 8-year old, who was kept amused with various things to do (on printed children's menu). She also enjoyed the food :)
I go to Zizzi's every few months and we are never disappointed. The staff are great and the food is delicious, even when I eat gluten-free! Cannot recommend highly enough.
We went for a work meal as a member of our team was leaving us. Food was excellent along with the service really enjoyed the evening
There is nothing better than being recognised by staff and treated well. Tim, Anna and the chef (sorry, I don't know his name) who made my delicious risotto made my quick pre-theatre dinner completely stress-free. The chef beamed from ear-to-ear when I took a moment to go to the open kitchen to thank him. It the little things that make the world a better place :)
Zizzi's is the only place I know where you can select courses from a proper allergens-related menu (gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.). And the staff know to take these things seriously. My risotto was prepared without butter or cheese and was simply *delicious*. Superb :)
I had dinner with 2 work colleagues during the early evening on a Sunday. Food was very good as always. Waiter very friendly & courteous.
We arrived a liitle early for our 'after the rugby' meal but this was no problem even though the 2 old ladies at our original window table were not finished with it. The staff found us another (by the kitchen) and made us very welcome. The restaurant was quite busy with a large group, families and couples but the staff coped well. The food came quickly and my classic funghi pizza was better than I've had at Pizza Express and my husband's rustica primavera pizza left no room for dessert. Very enjoyable, good value for money, will definitely go back.
Was able to book this restaurant on top table even though the restarant booking system said it was full.
I met three of my friends here for lunch on a Saturday. I had booked weeks ahead and we were given a table which we were not happy with.I mentioned this and was given another table right away. The staff were very helpful and attentive but not overly so as in some places. The food arrived quickly afer ordering with no long waits between courses. The food itself was beautifully presented and the garlic bread and bread basket wonderful. I had the Penne Casa which is a chicken dish, my friend had a vegetarian dish and both were delicious. The only thing that we were not too keen on was the lemon tart which was very, very tart! It might have been better if it had served with a bit of cream or ice cream. Would definitely return!!
Queensferry Street was closed so we were diverted to Edinburgh Quays which was excellent.
The food & the service were good. However, the restaurant appears to be the place of choice for hen parties and groups of teens. We were there for a pre theatre meal so we were not staying long - but the noise would not encourage you to linger anyway.
If you were in a large party it probably is the place to go as the kitchen & serving staff seem to manage that well.
Great value, food and service. Zizzi is never a disappointment
We attended Zizzi's on Mothers Day primarily because we knew they would serve food everyone would like. The food was good and not expensive. The service was very good and we felt very well looked after. I would recommend Zizzi's for lunch or early evening meal. Not sure it has the ambience for romantic dinner but it does cater for most tastes. One comment re Mothers Day. They had a 3 course offer which we felt was too much to eat at lunchtime and not great value against the normal menu. We would have appreciated an option for 2 courses
