Zizzi - Edinburgh Roxburgh Court
Located in the heart of the old town, a UNESCO world heritage site, our Edinburgh Roxburgh Court is down a side street just off the Royal Mile. Inside; stone walls are blended with design aspects inspired by the opulent Law courts, Advocate's Library & the historical presence of the 'Close', offering an elegant and stylish dining experience with views across to Princes Street Gardens. This restaurant is a perfect stop after trawling the shops locally, having visited the Castle or braved the Ghostly 17th century Mary Kings Close which is located in the immediate vicinity.
A lovely experience. Our server was absolutely outstanding, nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond, offering us our deserts to go, when we'd over indulged on our starters and mains. An excellent location and lovely venue. we'll definitely be back.
Enjoyed my visit to Zizzi, good choice on menu, food was served quickly and even though they became very busy the service was excellent and prices reasonable. Would certainly go again when visiting Edinburgh.
We had a lovely meal in Zizzi in comfortable surroundings and a view looking out on to Princess Street. We received excellent service from the waitress who couldn’t have been more helpful, including helping with menu choices for two of our party who are coeliac. The ambiance of the restaurant was lively but not overpowering. For us a good choice and would go back.
Really great attentive waiter, wonderful food, tasted even better when using the 25% off food offer code from their website!
Three of us went to this restaurant for lunch on a weekday. Regular Zizzi food (although my favourites had been taken off the menu). Big restaurant but only 2 or 3 other people there when we got there at 1pm. It's just off the Royal Mile down a smelly alley so you wouldn't know it was there. The way the tables were set out made me think they often do large parties so other reviews might be quite different. So, all in all, nice food, very nice staff, easy to get a table when other cafes on the street were heaving. Good place to know if you're hungry in Edinburgh and struggling to find a table.
Prompt,friendly service and good food.
One of the best meals We have hadfor a long time.
The occasdion was a meal before attending the Les Mis show at the theatre.
Came acvross your venue by accident, we were delight with the ambience, Quality of food, and our waiter was the bees knees.
Thank very much indeed. We'll be bach!!
Graat value, great service, food was excellent. Perfect for what we were looking for - an early sunday evening meal. Ideal location too.
Food good, the view excellent. Service a little bit hit and miss, but good overall.
Heat service and lovely food
It was a bit over priced and we waited an incredibly long time for everything and were there during a non peak time.
Zizzi was very friendly and although the Opentable on-line booking didn’t work, they had no problem accommodating our family of 4. Food variety was very good and they had a seaprate menu book which described the allergy information for each dish on the menu. Very useful as my son has egg and nut allergies. All in all a very nice evening in a good setting and good food.
Great staff and food
I am a big fan of Zizzi and have eaten at at least five-six other branches. This one is as welcoming as the other ones, with a nice interior and friendly staff, but a small let down with the food. It wasn't too bad, but a bit overcooked pasta and I am definitely an al dente person! Quite a small portion too. Wouldn't avoid the place, but not going back tomorrow either...
Food wasnt to the quality i would have ecpected, however the staff we pleasant and tried to service quickly, even though it was busy.
The open table booking failed to be picked up by the restaurant but they had space anyway. Food was good and the view of Edinburgh from the restaurant was good.
Little difficult for us to find, but once there, man great food and atmosphere. Server was friendly and helpful. Food was AMAZING. So good we went back and tried again. Great find
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Service was efficient without being intrusive. Great location. Would recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed dining here, the ambience was perfect, the food and service was great,.
How in the world does this chain restaurant have 4.5 stars on Open Table? Olive Garden has better Italian meals and their meals come with bread and salad! Located in a fun nook in the Real Mary's close, the restaurant has the potential to be interesting but wasn't good. They didn't have our reservations even though we'd already received a confirmation email but were nice about accommodating us. The wait staff was pleasant and the wine was good. However the food was less the spectacular; it was even less than good. My husband ordered the beef and venison strozzapreti and flavors were ok but there was very little sauce, flavor or meat. I ordered the penne Della casa, a baked dish. Rather than a nice cheesy baked crust, it arrived a runny mess with thin sauce lots of pasta, a few pieces of over cooked chicken and a few traces of spinach and pancetta. After my husband was finished with his meal, the server came back to check on us (the restaurant wasn't very busy) and did offer to bring me something else. I declined having lost all faith in their food selections. There are far better dining options in Edinburgh.
Visit to Edinburgh
As a whole our meal was ok. I had carbonara which was a bit dry. We asked for flat white coffees which they didn't know what they were. Seemed a bit surprised at that since they are very common. Got given two expresses instead. Friend asked twice for some steamed milk but it never came. I swapped mine for a latte. Staff overall were really nice.
Just enjoyed everything from start to finish . Food and service was really good . Surroundings perfect as well .
Great place for families and big groups. The food was surprisingly good, definitely recommend this place for those looking for a casual dinner
Hidden away in Roxburgh Close this restaurant is worth the visit. Beautiful old building and tastefully decorated, food great and wine perfect.
Great views. Good food and great service. I will be back
We were in Edinburgh for two nights and didn't have a reservation. Although this is a chain, my family certainly enjoyed it at a reasonable price. We would go again.
We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The food was very good, with fabulous pizzas, and the service was good.
Food was very good and worth the price
Delicious food and service spot on.
we went for a family lunch to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday. Lovely lunch and our host was most helpful and friendly. Will definately be back 🍴
Lovely food, wine and the team looking after us were brilliant.
Nice Italian food well served and reasonable cost. All of our mains were well prepared and tasty. Would eat here again.
Really enjoyed our meal here. Excellent location an views. Lovely food and good service
We really enjoyed our visit. Good food and great service. The place is very popular, so it can be a bit noisy, but overall would recommend a visit.
Great food, great service and reasonable price
We had a lovely family time at Zizzi's in Roxburgh Court. As a coeliac, the GF food was lovely and the waiting staff were very helpful.
Great atmosphere and position for a large gathering. We had a really enjoyable evening
Really good meal, good value. Used voucher which Zizzi sent to me to celebrate my birthday. Free bottle of prosecco and one free main course in a party of 4. A really nice touch which made the meal even better value. Very handy location for many Edinburgh Fringe venues.
