Zizzi - Glasgow West End
Enjoyable afternoon lunch with extended family, food and service was good. Will come back again for sure.
Turned up and found It was closed for refurbishment so not too happy to have received a confirmation email and a ‘ how was your experience’ Mail .
Food was lovely but they brought out the main meal when we still had our starter on the table. Place wasn’t busy and we were in early so not sure of the rush.
Booked this for my girlfriends birthday. When we arrived they had no record of our booking although it has already been confirmed by email. The guy explained this, offered no apology and said he had a spare couple seats at the door. My seat was the window sill and it was freezing cold. They served my girlfiends food a good few mintues before mine arrived and because of our location i had to go to the bar to order drinks and desert. Disappointing overall.
Arrived for our booking at 7.45 and didn't get our mains until ten o clock at night. The food was over cooked. Disappointing to say the least.
Rustic pizzas were yummy. Overall good dining experience let down by long waiting time for the bill despite asking for it twice.
Made a last minute booking. The food is what you would expect from an Italian Chain restaurant with thin crust pizzas being a standout, but what made the difference this trip was the exceptional service we had. Staff were friendly and helpful, a wee bit chatty about the menu in a good way. While we had a good table position, my only gripe was an extremely boisterous dining group a couple of tables away, who clearly had had one too many. I would recommend this place for dinner with friends but not necessarily if you are on a romantic date.
Zizzi might be hidden down a little street, but it is well worth hunting this restaurant down.
Great food great service, fast and friendly, great affordability, worth every penny.
Our group of seven had a great evening at Zizzi's. The artwork on the walls, apparently done by art students from the nearby Glasgow School of Art, definitely adds that something extra (even in the toilets!). Service was perhaps a little slow, but we had time to chat and enjoy catching up. Staff were cheerful, friendly and responsive. We could see the chefs busy making pizza and putting them into the huge oven. We all enjoyed our food, and the chocolate and banana calzone with gelato was something special! Not a venue for a quiet meal out, as the place was buzzing, but that suited our group.
The restaurant is bright & clean. The waiter service was excellent. The food was plentiful and delicious.
Really good food and great service
They did not receive the reservation from TopTable. We could be seated because we arrived early.
Chose Zizzi West End for a post cinema meal with family, looking for good, quickly served food and a chance to chat about the film. On arrival this restaurant seems to have all the boxes ticked - trendy location, great food at reasonable prices and friendly staff. However, even with only about half the tables filled the noise level was so high that we started off shouting at each other and then gave up and just enjoyed our meal and moved onto quieter location for coffee. It's a shame - guess it's the building acoustics. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite but not for a romantic date or when you want to indulge in any meaningful conversation with your partner, family or friends.
Lovely restaurant open plan. there is a nice feel about the place service good. I've been a few times and food always great but not cheap can work out quite expensive. Overall good experience would recommend.
Zizzis in the West End is different from the others I have been to. There is a more casual feel to it. The kitchen is open plan where you can see the big pizza oven. The staff were friendly and always seemed to come at the right time. Overall I would recomend this place if you were planning on a casual meal rather than a quite romantic meal for 2.
We love Zizzi West End. Never disappointing. Great evening. Thank you.
I've been to Zizzi's a number of times. It never fails to deliver in the westend site. Great surroundings and nice to see the menu updated.
Le Monde, George Street, Edinburgh. Enjoyed the meal but you don't get very much and I don't feel it is good value for money. Glad we had the 20% discount. The restaurant however has a nice ambience and the service was very good.
Le Monde, George Street, Edinburgh - Although a slight mix-up initially with the offer we had booked, everything was fine and the food was very good.
No complaints at all and enjoyed the experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit received a great welcome and enjoyed our meal
Visited Le Monde Edinburgh for a meal on Saturday 4th Feb. Atmosphere was great and meal was lovely although the sizzling tiger prawns could have been hotter. Would recommend this restaurant as prices were quite reasonable. The Le Monde fish and chips was excellent!
Le Monde, Edinburgh. We had a great meal last night and the staff were excellent. Will definitely be returning.
Good food and good value, drink prices average for George street I would think. Venue was very nice and even live piano around 10pm.
We visited Le Mande in edinburgh on 17th January 2012 and were NOT disappointed! What a fabulous venue. Very modern and open, however, secluded little areas where you can get some intimacy. Firstly, the service was great. Attentive and efficient staff who looked after us all evening. Secondly, the food!! My word, what an extensive menu presented beautifully and cooked to perfection! lastly, the cost - may be a little over priced in places - but you get what you pay for and worth every penny
First time we had visited Le Monde and we had high hopes but we won't be back. When the waitress brought my drink I said "sorry the coke was no ice" she said "I can change it, but it was only no ice in the pint you asked for". Point off right away, don't tell me what I asked for! The starters were not worth what they were priced at and weren't great. Mains were nice & good size. When bill came the discount hadn't been applied, I had to ask for it. All in all not great.
We dined at Le Monde in George Street Edinburgh on Sunday 18/12/2012.
Most enjoyable experience
le monde edinburgh
Great night with fabulous food and service will definatly be back
Le Monde in Edinburgh was a fantastic experience. Huge food portions of excellent quality and a lovely selection of drinks including delicious cocktails. Service was perfect, and very helpful! An extra 20% off our bill was definitely a little extra that was very appreciated.
Girls lunch at Le Monde in Edinburgh. It had been revamped since the last time we were there but food, service and vino as good as ever. Two tips though - I has requested a table in Paris but wouldn't have got it if I hadn't phoned to check and when we got our bill the 20% off the total bill was missing. Once questioned if was fixed in an instant but worthwhile checking you have got the deal if you've booked it
Visited Zizzi Glasgow westend on a weekday night. Had 3 tapas for starters plus bread and olives and then a Rustica pizza each (on a 2 for 1 deal). Waitress did warn maybe too much but had a hungry boyfriend so we stuck to it. Food was very nice, very good portions (didn't quite finish pizza) and good atmosphere. Will be back again.
Very good meal!! A little busy on a saturday night, had to have dinner pretty much on the dance floor which was slightly weird but apart from that amazing service and great environment!! Defo going back again
Le Monde Edinburgh is a fantastic night out. Our party of 10 girls had a lovely meal. We did have a slight prob with the steak pie's that were ordered but they were changed and not charged for! Lovely place to go as a group or a romantic meal for two. Will def be back.
The food in Le Monde was very tasty and good sized portions. The service was good too. Only downside was that the table was right next to the bar area so extremely noisy and we couldnt have a conversation ourselves.............
Le Monde: 16 George Street, Edinburgh
Very lovely restaurant, had a nice table and could not believe how busy it was so early on a Saturday night. Service was quick and food tasted lovely. Wine included in offer was also very nice. My only criticism would be that the offer menu was rather limited (only 4 starters and 4 main courses) but what we ate was well presented and tasted delicious. Would go back.
Le Monde in Edinburgh's George Street is a stylish and sleek bar/restaurant. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our table that already had our choice of 2 courses for £14.95 menu on it. Our choices were immediate with no debate had over the flat bread and hummous and bruchetta. Our main courses, again, picked themselves with tuscan lasgne and prawn risotto. If there were faults our jackets which rested on the next table should have been collected and the charging of the full bill was off
A lovely sunday lunch with several varied menus for all tastes. The 2 course sunday lunch was particularly good value and excellent food. Others in our party had teh £14.95 special which was also good. Will return soon. Service very good albeit the restaurant was quiet.
Went to Zizzis Creswell Lane on Sat eve at 7.30 . They did not seem to have our booking but gave us a table anyway. The waitress was friendly and smiley. Drinks and nibbles came quite promptly, but our main course took ages to arrive probably an hour! If we had not had nibbles we would have been absolutely starving - other people were being served - think they forgot us! When we asked the waitress checked and it eventually came, but if we had not asked.... The food is still good though!
Another great evening at Zizzi. This is the most exciting of the Zizzis we haev visited, with its spectacular decor and buzz. The food is consistently good.
