Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Leicester's branch of Zizzi is just around the corner from the Grand Hotel. It's also conveniently located for matches at Welford Road or the Wa

Great early evening meal with friends before heading to theatre. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is interesting and reliable Italian menu. Nice relaxing ambiance.

The food and drinks were very pleasing. Our only gripe were we had to move tables due to the hot air blowing on us. However, it was hot everywhere. Staff were patient as we moved to another area of the premises.

Great service and piping hot food. I think at evening dinner linen napkins and not paper should be on the table. Prices certainly seem to have risen but we would definitely return.

We booked for a pre-cinema Saturday night meal, expecting it to be fairly busy on a payday weekend...

We arrived and the restaurant was in what can only be described as chaos. The front of house did not have our booking, after waiting 15 minutes to be seen, they quickly scrabbled a table together for us.

We were sat just in front of the bar with the the walk way / till area on my left (I was facing out on the restaurant). By the till there were 3 cutlery trays stacked procariously on top of eachother with the waiter and waitresses throwing the cutlery in and out the draws, I get there is no quiet way to do this! However smashing cutlery doesn't really add to the ambience and you cannot have a conversation... it just brings on a migraine.
Alongside the smashing cutlery there was a selection of squirty cleaning bottles, dirty cloths, used blue tissue, dirty glasses, crayons etc piled up in a filthy mess - all in view whilst eating which is really off putting.

Service was slow, staff seemed very flustered which can come across as brash/ rude. Food was mediocre.

Safe to say we will not be coming to this Zizzi again. The new Highcross chain is much more appeasing, staff friendlier, food better.

We enjoyed our lunch at Zizi. The waitress was very helpful. I had chilli with my pasta at her suggestion (I l like a lot of spice). Altogether very good value. Zizi at Leicester!

After a busy day shopping we were looking forward to our Zizzi meal. The place was busy but our service was good, and both our meals were really nice. Along with a few glasses of wine we had a thouroughy enjoyable visit.

At ZIzzi's Leicester the food was great, service was a little poor considering there where 2x as many staff as there were people eating.

Last time I went to Zizzi's I wasn't impressed so hadn't been back since! This time it was a different experience, food was lovely and would go back again. The portion of the mains are big so go easy on the starters or share the mains.
