- KKevinNewcastle and Northumberland •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe love Bouchon Bistro otherwise we wouldn't choose it for special occasions. The food is excellent for the price. The staff are very attentive and the noise level is just right that you feel like it's an intimate dinner without hearing every word of the other table. As a wine drinker you will be very happy. We've never not had a delightful glass to date. On this occasion I had the cheese souffle as a starter and it was melt in my mouth. The remaining sauce mopped up with the crusty roll provided. My wipe had the french onion soup which was wonderfully rich as I snuck a taste. For mains we opted for the half duck and lamb rump. The lamb was perfectly cooked and paired really well with the peppers and capers. Overall a lovely evening and will be back once we have childcare again 😆More infoBouchon Bistrot - Hexham££££• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8

- EEileenNewcastle and Northumberland •4 reviews5.0Dined on 12 Sept 2026Another visit to this super restaurant. We were big fans of the Townhouse and were saddened when it closed. We were delighted however, when Florin took over the Courtyard. I can’t fault anything about this lovely restaurant. The food and service are exceptional, the ambience is informal, relaxed but dignified. I’m mainly pescatarian and try to eat a plant based diet. There are always plenty of choices on the menu, which is changed seasonally, there are a selection of specials too. Everything I’ve tried was cooked to perfection and delicious. That’s why we keep coming back as a couple and with friends who are also full of praise for this wonderful restaurant.More infoThe Courtyard Pegswood££££• Bistro• Morpeth•4.7
- HHelenNewcastle and Northumberland •11 reviews5.0Dined on 12 Sept 2026Thoroughly enjoyed our meals: peach and lentil salad and Camembert were both superb starters. The fish stew main was excellent as was the steak-frites. We enjoyed a carafe of house white. Our waitress, Alex was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. She was efficient and very cheerful! We were seated upstairs which was pleasant but not quite as atmospheric as the restaurant downstairs.More infoCôte Brasserie - Newcastle££££• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
