Best Contemporary European Restaurants in Lake Forest, Chicago / Illinois

Cobblestone is a hidden gem in the North Center neighborhood. We went there for the first time with our niece, who suggested it. Great and interesting food. For the less adventurous, they have a Bistro Burger and fries. But they have more interesting and delicious options like the Pappardelle with braised duck ragu (lots of duck in the ragu) and the short rib goulash with knedliky (which is a Czech bread dumpling). We also loved the shaved Brussels sprout salad and cider braised beets. Want to go back and try the roasted carrots as well as the Doner kebab. Friendly service. And we got to see outside which was very nice.

What am experience!!! We could not think of a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Extraordinary food and kindness. Nina and Chris were the perfect host and we feel so lucky for the beautiful dinner. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

The food was great. Everything came out all at once so you didn’t have to wait for anything. Once you ordered. Had a chance to talk to the owner as well and appreciated His enthusiasm. Will definitely eat there again.
