The Vic is a fantastic pub with lots of nice outdoor space and a friendly atmosphere. The food (heavy on the fish) was really tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were super helpful and friendly - it’s a real gem!

Came after seeing their Sunday roast on socials and can say we were not disappointed. We had some items off their à la carte menu too and would definitely come back again for dinner. Their cocktails were good quality, definitely somewhere to come the girls. Service was good and everyone was so friendly, atmosphere was relaxed so I didn’t feel rushed to order and leave. Highly recommend!

We ate at The Funky Monk on Bank Holiday Sunday- August 31 The food was exquisite. Sublime. Divine. We are a couple of foodies and we were blown away. We were in the area for an Event on the Monday; but we’d definitely drive 90 minutes from South London again just to eat here. The Scallops were “to die for”! My husband’s steak was perfect. My Pasta was delicious. The Restaurant was not busy. However, the Pub was. The Staff were just the right balance of reactive and attentive despite being incredibly busy serving at a heaving Bar. They offered service with a smile. 10/10 would recommend.

The food was excellent, particularly the lamb sausage roll. The service was also very friendly and attentive. The restaurant also has Aircon which was much appreciated on a hot day. Overall, good value and would definitely re-visit.

My wife and I turned up at The Talbot on a very hot day about quarter of an hour before it was scheduled to open, at noon. A staff member kindly showed us to an outside table in a shaded position and suggested we sat there until opening time. A little later he also very kindly brought us a glass of tap water each to drink while we waited. We had booked to eat lunch at noon and very much enjoyed the two plates of Greek salad we had ordered. The salads were excellent, and ample. We ate them with sourdough bread, which was also excellent. As The Talbot filled up we enjoyed seeing the other guests receiving friendly welcomes similar to the greeting we had been given.
