Best Indian Restaurants in Bowie State University

Rania was my first Michelin-starred dining experience, and it was a fantastic introduction. I chose the seven-course chef’s tasting menu, and what I appreciated most was how inventive the food was without feeling overly complicated. There was clearly a lot of technique behind each course, but the food still felt approachable. Everything tasted like it belonged together. The scallop with spicy hollandaise was probably my favorite course. The scallop was beautifully prepared, and the hollandaise brought just enough heat and richness without taking over. The tuna tartare was another highlight. It came with this bright, herb-heavy cilantro sauce that was fresh, unexpected, and honestly one of the flavors I kept thinking about after the meal. I also had a cocktail that arrived in a cloud of smoke with gold flake floating in it. So yes, there was some theater involved. But it was also a really good cocktail, which made the presentation feel fun rather than gimmicky. The service matched the food. From the moment I walked through the door until dessert and my eventual departure, everyone made the experience feel polished and welcoming. Jonas, my server, was excellent. He was attentive and knowledgeable without hovering, and he helped make a long tasting menu feel relaxed and well paced. Anyway, the whole experience struck a nice balance. It was creative and beautifully presented, but nothing felt like it was trying too hard to impress you. The food was still the point, and the service made it that much easier to enjoy. For my first Michelin-starred meal, Rania was pretty much exactly what I hoped the experience would be. Great food, some genuinely surprising flavors, excellent service, and a meal I’ll remember for a long time. I’d absolutely go back.

What an incredible anniversary! The food was incredible along with the atmosphere and the service was spot on. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. Thank you, Mars!! 

Nice location, lovely atmosphere, gives the old Barn/Lodge/Hitch vibe. Nice drinks and super eclectic menu. Food was deelish. loved the Basil Chestnuts and Tandoori Tiger Shrimp appetizers. The Mango Mousse Cheesecake is yummy but it's not a cheesecake, it's a mousse, my fault, the menu describes it perfectly. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant was lovely and the buffet food was very good. I’m planning to go back to order off the menu. The staff was wonderful and took care of our large group. I was very impressed!

My husband and I had dinner at Rajaji on a Sunday around 5:00pm and it was excellent! We often seek out Indian restaurants when we are traveling as it is one of our favorite types of cuisine and Rajaji did not disappoint. He always orders chicken biryani and I always get some type of dal (dal makhani this time) and Rajaji’s versions were top tier. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in D.C. looking for a delicious meal and a relaxed environment.
