Best Italian Restaurants in Ilford

What a wonderful evening at Darlings, I took my partner for his birthday after visiting the V&A East Storehouse, had seen a few bad reviews so was a bit hesitant, but thought I would take a chance, and I'm so glad I did. The starters were fantastic, the courgette fritti in a very light batter, and the cod were so tasteful. Mains were casarece with pork, leek and fennel ragu and spaghetti with clams, wine, garlic and chilli, superb. We shared the tiramisu, probably the best I've ever had...sweet enough but not overpowering. Drinks were on the small side, but the ambience, lighting and music and overall vibe was just perfect. We'll be back!

We visited as it was our anniversary. When we arrived to our table it had been decorated with a heart balloon and petals and a little couples question game. It was such a lovely, unexpected surprise. The lovely waitress brought out a celebration drink for us both also, on the house. The food was absolutely lovely and flavorful. Great portion size, specifically, the Tagatelli Salmon. It was outstanding. We would like to mention both Pip and Aganata who were so lovely, welcoming and attentive. This was our first visit and we cannot wait to visit again.

My morning here was a great experience. I was really blown away by the atmosphere of the place, I felt like I was in a quaint corner of Italy rather than in the middle of Stratford. I would say that it was more of an experience than just breakfast. Absolutely stunning from the decor to the staff uniforms to that beautiful seat by the large windows. And the Iced Spanish Latte was perfect for a warm summers morning!
