Best Southern American Restaurants in Shaw

Our party arrived early and we were seated promptly. Serve was good and appetizers were warm and yummy. The hush puppies were flavorful and not too spicy. Corn bread was delicious. All of our entrees were delicious and served hot. Will visit again next time in DC.

My family and I had a wonderful experience here! We were a party of 12, and everyone truly enjoyed ourselves. The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell there is a talented chef behind the menu. There was also a live band playing, and they were incredibly talented, adding so much to the atmosphere. I wish I could remember their name because they did an amazing job. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The young lady at the front who checked us in was so friendly, welcoming, and professional. She was tall, wore glasses, and made a great first impression that set the tone for the evening. Our waitress was amazing calm, collected, friendly, and very patient despite how busy the restaurant was. She took great care of our large table all evening. After dinner, we spent some extra time hanging around the bar, enjoying the music, good vibes, and each other’s company. During that time, she even brought me a complimentary drink, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. The only thing that saddened me was realizing after I got home that I never received the banana pudding I had ordered. I was really looking forward to trying it! However, the restaurant was extremely busy, and I completely understand how something like that can happen during a busy service. I would also like to thank the manager, who was very nice, understanding, and professional. It was clear that the staff worked hard to make sure guests had a great experience. The excellent food, outstanding service, welcoming staff, live entertainment, and great atmosphere made for a memorable evening. My family and I had an amazing time, and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!

If you find yourself in the DC area DO NOT pass on an opportunity to dine here! The food, drinks, and service are outstanding. This is all wrapped in an interesting setting, that maintains an energetic flow without sacrificing intimacy, making it ideal for dinner out with friends or for date night. The food is a fusion of Korean and Southern US BBQ that manages to be authentic to both cultures and completely unique in their flavors at the same time. I highly recommend the Ribs or the "Dirty Chicken" for your 1st visit and do not pass up getting the collards with kimchi as a shareable side dish.

The food and drinks here were absolutely amazing! The food was very flavorful and it was good vibes. I came here for brunch with some friends and family and I would definitely go back.
