We have eaten here a few times for special occasions and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is well thought out and an interesting mix of tastes and textures. The space between courses is prefect, and I am assured the wine pairings are 'spot on' by my husband. This latest time was no exception. We especially enjoyed the pork and tuna starter, the sweetcorn custard, the pollack course and the duck course.

We normally go to Ginos for special occasions because although the food is excellent it’s not cheap. This was my birthday treat and as usual everything was fantastic. Great food lovely wine and lager. It’s also a fabulous location on the Quayside looking up to the bridges.

I bought this for a birthday grift for my wife as we have always wanted to try the event, having done various others, and ate at the restaurant a few times. The knowledge, and quality of the food and wine was incredible. The evening and other guests really helped and could not recommend the experience enough to others looking at trying. In the current climate, it feels like this is a really good price, for an amazing experience. It’s not something you can probably do regularly, but for a special ocassion or a one off, I really don’t think the price can be questioned. Chris, the chef, was very good at explaining each dish while he was there, but had to say that Will showed such an amazing love for this job! It’s fantastic when people have that much passion for the job, as it definitely impacts positively on the atmosphere for those there for the experience. Will definitely be back to Blackfriars again, and would not hesitate to come back for the chef’s table again
