Absolutely delightful visit to The Ivy, Chichester to celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. From the pleasant greeting at the door to the charming servers we have a lovely time. The food was delicious too. The event was crowned by the delivery of a mini birthday cake for the birthday girl, she was absolutely delighted! Thank you all very much 😊

I have quite a tricky relationship with mussels. I absolutely adore them — but only when they’re prepared properly. There should be no unpleasant smell whatsoever, and the sauce needs to be made with good-quality cream and wine. I honestly can’t think of another place in the UK, not just on the Isle of Wight, that comes close to the mussels Baywatch serves at its summer dinners. They are genuinely exceptional. Definitely come and try them for yourself — you won’t be disappointed.

Very professional staff. A warm welcome and attentive throughout the evening. Delightful surroundings. The food was first class. Had the set menu at a very reasonable price and was hugely impressed. Could not fault the experience.

Lovely meal. We had the set menu which gave a good choice. I had been before and had really enjoyed the food but I hadn’t been for a long while as I had heard bad reports. I am glad the restaurant is as good as before. One of my fellow diners was on his 3 visit and confirmed they had also been delighted with the food

My chicken snitzel was good and my son's tomahawk pork . Also the trifle and sticky toffee pudding. My husband had two starters Tempura squid which was tender and scotch egg which he didn't like. He felt the meat was packed and lacked flavour. Wine was good.
