Me and my sisters took my mom for afternoon tea for her birthday. From the ambience with cool whimsical vintage decor and delicious savoury and sweet treats we were very pleased and satisfied. They have a wonderful selection of teas served in cute mismatched teacups and teapots. We did the afternoon tea and my mom did the garden tea and it was perfect and filling enough for lunch. Service was excellent. I’d highly recommend.

The Fairmont is still one of our favourite places to go for Afternoon Tea and they definitely set the bar in this category. The food was delicious as were the choices of teas available. The view from the patio, as well, is second to none and it was the first time that we were able to sit and dine in the pavilion/pagoda (I think that's what it was called)! Service was warm and welcoming from beginning to end. There were a couple of areas of opportunity however. I wasn't aware as to the extent of construction/renovation that is currently taking place. There could have been better signage directing us where to go. When someone finally did point us in the right direction, the hostess greeted us briefly then spent the rest of the time talking with one couple. The rest of the guests waiting to attend the tea were mostly ignored other than the initial greeting. When we were finally ushered to the patio, there was very little information provided to us about the bees or there care. This was disappointing since the theme of the tea was 'Queen Bee Afternoon Tea'. Before the tea was served, it would have been great to know more about the hotel's bee keeping process, how the bees are cared for, and how the honey is harvested for the restaurants use. Also, I was very disappointed that the gratuity was automatically added to the purchase at the time that the booking was made. A gratuity should never be expected or enforced by a business and should be left up to the guest as to whether the service warrants a gratuity and how much is offered. Quite presumptuous on the restaurants part. One last comment, 'accessible parking' is no longer available and instead, we were forced to use valet parking. In the past, there was always no charge for accessible parking, it was provided as a courtesy. The more that the Accor group makes changes to their Fairmont hotels, the more disappointing the experiences seem to be.

I have been here many times, introducing new friends, family and colleagues and as always, the food, and drinks were both delicious and impressive. Both people I’d brought with me were young 24-25 year old girls and they were impressed by the decor, the beautiful drinks and food and giftware for sale. (Purchases were made) They both said they wanted to bring their fiancés there next time. It was the perfect place for a celebratory bridal lunch! Of course I will be back, and I’m sure they’ll be back and introducing their own friends in future visits.💕
