In need of some bbq and decided to visit with my kids. We had an amazing time there. The menu was upscale for most bbq restaurants and creative along with all of the standard fare. Let’s me say that the manager was outstanding. Professional, attentive and friendly to every guest. The food was very good. My son had the fried catfish sandwich. My daughter has the smoked sausage dinner and I had the St. Louis style ribs. The fish sandwich was perfectly fried and huge. My daughter’s smoked sausage dinner was succulent and delicious. My rib dinner was tasty but, a little underwhelming as far as the smoke on it. I do prefer hickory smoke with a nice bark. They use pecan which is a mellow flavor profile and there was no bark. Also, they were a bit over cooked. Let me explain. A good smoked rib should have a nice bark, flavorful smoke and be tender but not mushy. These ribs although tasty didn’t meet that standard in my opinion although very moist with a nice smoke ring. I was looking for a nice tender bite that comes clean from the bones while maintaining some structure. But they were still delicious never the less. We’re looking forward to trying the rest of the menu asap. Overall, an excellent experience worthy of the price.
