Sokrates Greek Taverna on Winter Hey Lane in Horwich is a relaxed, friendly restaurant serving dishes from Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean. The focal point of the menu is the Greek Meze which is a selection of dishes served to the middle of the table for people to share over an hour or so. It's a great way to eat and experience a variety of flavours. The Meze can be tailored for vegetarians and for special diet restrictions such as gluten or dairy intolerance. On the A'la Carte menu one can find all the popular dishes like Mousaka, Stifado and delicious Souvlaki (skewers) and Lamb Koftas cooked on real charcoal. Home made desserts are very popular with Baklava and the Greek Yoghurt cheesecake. Sokrates Taverna also has an excellent selection of wines and beers from Greece and Cyprus.

    The food was delicious and we enjoyed our meal. The staff were lovely. We just thought it was a bit pricey. For example the ice cream was £6 and it was barely two scoops.. tiny amount for the price that didn’t feel right and I feel the ice cream should be cheaper unless they give you more of it!

    The Courthouse in Bolton is a hidden gem. The food is absolutely delicious—full of bold flavors and clearly made with quality ingredients. The drinks are just as impressive, with a great selection and expertly mixed cocktails. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the service is always spot on. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat and unwind in Bolton.

    Great lunch today. Have been before and the food is still as good. The service was brilliant from the young waiter. Value for money as main dishes had good pieces of chicken.
