I’m not sure whether this was an issue with the restaurant or the booking app, but I made the booking around three days in advance. I received a confirmation through the booking app and also received a call from the restaurant confirming the reservation a few days beforehand. However, on the actual day of the booking, the reservation was suddenly cancelled. The explanation given was that there was a conflict with the booking, but I don’t understand how this could happen when the reservation had already been confirmed both through the booking app and directly by the restaurant staff several days earlier. This was extremely disappointing, especially as I had made the booking well in advance and relied on the confirmation. Ambience, food and service was good, no doubt but the pre dinning management was poor.

Had a brilliant experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere was fantastic, the vibe was amazing, and the service was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything came together to make it a really enjoyable experience. Definitely a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and have a wonderful time. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐️👎🏻Very disappointing experience — Ambrai The prices shown on the menu look reasonable, but unfortunately, the experience changes completely when it comes to the final bill. They seem to charge you for absolutely everything — even small extras like sauces. At many 5-star restaurants, basic sauces and accompaniments are provided as part of the meal, but here, you have to pay extra for almost every little thing. Another major issue was the igloo time limit. Instead of feeling relaxed and enjoying your meal, it felt like we were being rushed by the timing. What was even more frustrating was the way the time seemed to be managed. If you need more time, they can add an extra hour, but then you are charged around $60 more. It gives the impression that the focus is more on making additional money than providing a good dining experience. As for the food, honestly, I don’t understand the hype. It was okay, but nothing exceptional. You can find similar or even better food at many other restaurants without paying so much for every small extra. Overall, for the amount of money and time involved, I would not visit this restaurant again. The experience felt more like a way to keep adding charges to the bill rather than making customers feel valued. For me, it was simply not worth the money or the time. Very disappointing and definitely not an experience I would recommend.

The Sirka onion portion at Ambrai was extremely disappointing. For $7.99, the quantity was so small that it wasn’t even enough for one person. It definitely did not feel worth the price. Onions are not that expensive in Melbourne, so charging $7.99 for such a tiny portion seems unreasonable. The portion size really needs to be improved for the price being charged.

Service and food are absolutely outstanding. However, there is one major issue: the time limit for the igloo experience. You should let your customers know about the time limit beforehand. It’s not a stopwatch—you can’t expect people to eat and leave within a strict time limit without clearly informing them in advance. I am very, very disappointed with this experience. We spent one hour travelling to get there, and the staff kept reminding us again and again that we had a two-hour time limit. I completely understand if there is a time limit, but customers should be informed before entering the igloo. The time limit wasn’t even clearly stated in the booking email. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back for another visit. We have never had such a disappointing experience at a restaurant before. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and work on improving the experience for customers. Thank you.

I booked a restaurant experience through OpenTable specifically for the igloo experience. Although we later modified the booking from 2 guests to 4 and changed the time, we were never informed that the igloo experience would no longer be available. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were simply told that the igloo was not available. This was particularly disappointing because the booking was made for my wife’s birthday, and the igloo experience was the main reason we chose the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was also quite average, with very small portions for the price. Overall, the food, ambience and experience did not live up to expectations. For a special occasion, this was a very disappointing experience. If the igloo experience was no longer available after the booking was modified, we should have been clearly informed beforehand rather than finding out only after arriving at the restaurant. Overall: not worth the hype, especially for a special occasion.
