Hearing that Yellow Door Bistro was a well-known and sought-after spot for brunch, I was excited to finally try it, although I was surprised to find the brunch was à la carte rather than the brunch experience I had expected. Unfortunately, we also found out that this was their final day of operation, which was disappointing. There were definitely things to love about the restaurant. The decor has so much character, the menu offers great options, and the staff were genuinely wonderful. Our waitress was actually the same person who had been working at the Hotel Arts pool the night before. She recognized us, chatted with us throughout her shift, and provided such a warm and personable experience. That alone was worth five stars. Unfortunately, the restaurant missed the mark when it came to cleanliness and attention to detail. There were dirty dishes left on tables, dead bugs on tables and around the windows, and the overall cleanliness seemed to have been neglected. We were also served coffee that had coffee grounds in it, and some of the cutlery provided was not clean. With only a few tables occupied, these details were especially noticeable. I understand that knowing it was the restaurant's final shift may have affected the atmosphere and motivation that day, but it was still disappointing to see such a lack of care, especially from a restaurant with such a strong reputation. The food itself was enjoyable, and the staff were great, which made the experience feel like it had so much potential. It's unfortunate that I won't have the opportunity to give Yellow Door another chance, because I genuinely would have liked to. I hope whatever comes next in this space recognizes the value of the staff who worked here and gives them the opportunity for more hours and a chance to continue doing what they clearly do well. They deserve it.

The Easter Brunch at Yellow Door Bistro was outstanding. The buffet selection was very extensive. The stations were constantly refilled so there were no disappointments accessing the different offerings. The quality of the food was excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient. Ambient noise was not too loud considering there were quite a few diners. We had a very enjoyable and filling brunch. The cost was a bit spendy but acceptable for this special occasion. We will likely return to sample the menu for dinner at a future date.

We booked here for Easter brunch. The food and service were excellent. Our server Tass was very attentive. We will definitely be back!

Valentine’s Day. The one thing I wish they could do is improve their service. While there, servers were dropping things, which happens, but it happened more than once. Glass was broken and they brought out a dirty mop to clean it up. Some staff were loudly telling others to “clear this table and that table” or giving other instructions that I don’t need to hear so easily. Sloppy clearing and resetting of cutlery. It all just took you out of the experience. Other than that - food was very good, great variety for set menu, drinks were ok - nothing exciting. Best bites were the duck breast with the carrot tamarind chutney and the beef with beet and sherry pureé and bordelaise. Partner reported the lobster tail was very good but the sauce was a little salty. Dessert was lovely.
