Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Statesboro

1790 has been one of my favorite restaurants in Savannah for a long time, and last night was proof why it will stay that way. It was easy to make reservations, and the staff accommodated my requests to make it special for my date and me for our “friend-iversary.” Christian our server was superb and helped me with making a video on my phone of my “proposal” to my friend dedicating myself to deepen our friendship, as well as the gift of “a diamond” a personal joke between us, that was really an oversized ring with a huge giant “diamond”. It had the perfect affect. 1790 is a great date night place because of the ambience created by the space, the history, the music, the staff, the quality of food, and service.

This place is Excellence personified. Absolutely perfect 7 courses, with the best service possible. If you are ever in Savannah and want a true fine dining experience, don’t miss this place.

Wonderful neighborhood establishment - never disappoints.

Lets start with what was great. My service was excellent Li & Fred were great. The manager and hostess was helpful as well. I had a hummus plate that was awesome. My husband had steak and fries that was good as well. Unfortunately the pork chop was over cooked by a lot on the dry side and the mash potatoes was watery or no butter or cream. (Hint Hint). I have dined here before with no food issues. I will be back for the crab cakes. Thank you for such great service on my husbands 50th Birthday.
