The oysters were AMAZING!! The sauces on every dish we tried were drinkable, especially the “hot plate”. This place was so good we went back twice during our four nights in Edinburgh.

It is really worth going to the Canny Mans because it is unique. My family and I had a great reunion party with wonderful food, wine, beer and good service. Highly recommend.

We had the most wonderful experience. Our waiter, Carlos, was exceptional! He made us feel so welcomed and special. He was informative and very professional while being warm and charming. I had the Red Deer Saddle and it was to perfection. Among us we had chicken Caesar salad, scallops and roast cod. All were perfectly prepared and presented. We truly enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere, such comfortable seats.

This was our first time visiting since the refurbishment and were blown away by both the quality of produce and the finished article. The wait staff were delightful and attentive. We’ll be back soon.

    Met by host, friendly and helpful, made sure we were settled in before handing over to waiting on staff. Not over faced on menu, but good selection. When the starters arrived the smell was incredible, well presented, looked and tasted delicious. Main course was again very well presented, looked and tasted wonderful. Not over priced, a lovely experience and will definitely visit again when next in Edinburgh.

    Seafood tapas! Wow. Very tasty. Oysters... Irish, Scottish and English. Terrific. Fresh. Delicious. Tempura prawns. Crispy. Delicate. With Wasbi, ginger ans soy. 3 large prawns. ButtermIlk cod and wee mussels. Outstanding. Tuna. Could have rarer but still great. Heirloom tomatoes. Cillection of red, yellow and green. In a light vinegrette. Would go back in heart beat.
