Best Gastro Pubs in Hunsdon

Came on a recommendation for the first time to celebrate my siblings belated birthdays. There was a birthday card on the table for them as we arrived! Delightful attentive (but not annoyingly) staff, friendly, genuinely cared about our experience throughout, happy to make any changes as appropriate. Food came promptly, all hot and fresh, delicious flavours. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will definitely be coming again!

The 2 tomahawk steaks we had were cooked to perfection. We had 1 medium well and the other Rare . My mums 89 th birthday meal Denise , Paul really looked after us. Many thanks for a great meal and making my Mums birthday .

Absolutely outstanding food and atmosphere- definitely book in advance we were lucky to get a table on a Friday evening (booked at lunchtime). Lovely buzzing atmosphere excellent service with a smile and banter the food is exceptional we both chose the posh burger which was outstanding

We ate at The Funky Monk on Bank Holiday Sunday- August 31 The food was exquisite. Sublime. Divine. We are a couple of foodies and we were blown away. We were in the area for an Event on the Monday; but we’d definitely drive 90 minutes from South London again just to eat here. The Scallops were “to die for”! My husband’s steak was perfect. My Pasta was delicious. The Restaurant was not busy. However, the Pub was. The Staff were just the right balance of reactive and attentive despite being incredibly busy serving at a heaving Bar. They offered service with a smile. 10/10 would recommend.
