Outstanding service and the food was delicious. Service was excellent. Only slight negative was the noise level but then again every table was filled and it was a Friday night. The bread pudding desert was delicious!

The 4 folks in our party each ordered something different--bison filet, grilled meatloaf, salmon, & hen. All 4 dishes were excellent. Our waiter was knowledgeable about both the food and the cocktail menus. He was attentive without hovering. We definitely will go back.

Bar Nico is a must stop when you are in Des Moines. Food has been consistently excellent over multiple visits and cost is very reasonable based on the high quality food. We have 2 in our family with celiac disease and the gluten free kitchen is a huge plus. The churros are amazing as well!!
