Gloucestershire Restaurants

My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary with a lunch. She chose fish and chips (which she always does..) and I had the duck curry followed by Christmas pudding. Both were excellent although I should have asked for more custard (personal preference for mushy puddings). Carole had a glass of Chablis and I had Rioja - both excellent. As I was driving immediately after the meal I had to exercise restraint and leave some wine - a 125ml option would be helpful. I had an excellent decaffeinated americano coffee and the anniversary profiteroles were a nice gesture which were boxed and enjoyed later. Our table was for 2 seated on the inner ring adjacent to the bar in the rotunda half way between the entrance and service doors. On reflection I should have requested the outer ring of tables as there was some noise from the bar and a lot of staff and customer movement around us. However, the overall experience was good and we were attentively looked after by an Italian gentleman (apologies I can’t recall his name). Thank you, Chris

A good varied menu. Plenty to choose from on all courses. A lovely range of fish, all well prepared and nicely presented. Good friendly service. Quality of the fish was excellent.

Hannah took care of us and was brilliant! Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was truly delicious. We had venison steak and fish of the day. Classy set up and overall, really agréable. Special mention for their Irish coffee, that was my treat.

Took my wife to lunch after Christmas shopping in Cirencester, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and the restaurant was busy which made for a great atmosphere. The restaurant was busy but it in no way affected the service. A great lunch in a great restaurant.

Fabulous food as always served hot and plentiful. Seemed like staff levels were a little thin on the ground this week but we were in no hurry so all good. Only minor criticism is that it was a little cold despite being a sunny day so maybe think about turning the heating up a little.
